Evaluation of patterns of drug abuse among secondary school students, Zaria local government area of Kaduna State, Nigeria

The study was an evaluation of patterns of drugs abuse among secondary school students, Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna state, Nigeria. The survey research design was adopted. A structured questionnaire was utilized to gather the data that was used for the study. The population of the study was estimated to be over three thousand senior secondary school III students from which a total of 530 volunteers served as the sample size. To establish the reliability of the instrument, 20 SS III students were served with the instruments which were not used in the main study.

Factors associated with acceptability of child adoption as a management option for infertility among females in Yenagoa metropolis, Bayelsa state

Background: Child adoption for infertile couples is considered a taboo in some communities in developing countries. The descriptive study was aimed at determining factors associated with acceptability of child adoption as a management option for infertility among women in Yenagoa metropolis, Bayelsa State. Method: Structured questionnaire were given to 400 females of child bearing age (18 and above) who were willing to participate in the study. These questionnaires were retrieved by the authors as soon as they were filled.

Assessment of consistent condom utilisation and associated factors among hiv clients on antiretroviral therapy in Mekele Hospital, Tigray, Ethiopia

Background: The introduction of antiretroviral therapy (ART) has sharply decreased morbidity and mortality rates among HIV infected patients. Due to this, more and more people with HIV live longer and healthier lives. Yet if they practice sex without condom, those with high viral load have the potential to infect their sero-negative sexual partner or at risk of acquiring drug resistant viral strains from their sexual partner who are already infected.

Dedifferentiated liposarcoma with low grade differentiation - a case report

Introduction: Dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLS) is a rare sarcoma accounting for only 2% of all soft tissue sarcomas.It is the most common liposarcoma of the retroperitoneum. It is defined as the morphological progression of a well-differentiated liposarcoma to a nonadipocytic sarcoma. Case Presentation: A 61 years old male presented to the outpatient department with symptoms of abdominal pain associated with distension for a duration of 2 months. A CT abdomen performed outside hospital showed a retroperitoneal mass for which he underwent a retroperitoneal tumor excision.

Elderly in India: A quality of life of elderly persons in institutional settings

Populations around the world are rapidly ageing. Ageing results from decreasing mortality, and, most importantly, declining fertility. The percentage of older persons in our country is increasing. The experience of being older is also changing. These changes come about through new technologies and values characteristics of a new historical period. Quality of life is a vital service outcome measure that is relevant to the care of old age people. There has been a shift in the management of old age people from quantity and quality of survival in international research studies.

Health goals of millennium development and the tribal population in India: A reality

Numerous studies revealed diversified nature of health condition among tribal in India. This paper attempts to explore to what extent the MDGs related to health become realistic and how much they are paradoxical towards tribal people. Whether, the initiatives undertaken to achieve desired health status for tribal population in India needs retrospective and prospective analysis. Have the government and development agencies translated the policy decision into committed plan of actions and reviewed programme and strategies to ensure the needs and rights of tribal people?

As a result, solar source activities usually occur in a cycle that mimics the 11-year sunspot cycle (SC).
