Pollutant dispersion modeling in low wind and stable conditions

The aim of this work is to present an analytical solution to the three-dimensional advection-diffusion equation in low wind conditions in a stable boundary layer dominated by shear. The model includes the longitudinal diffusion that can not be neglected in low wind conditions. The solution of the advection-diffusion equation is obtained applying the integral transform technique. To validate this methodology, data collected during the classic Prairie Grass experiment were employed.

Evaluation of some plant extracts on mycelial growth and sporulation density of fungal pathogens of groundnut (arachis hypogaea l.) in-vitro

The effect of autoclave and ultraviolet light-sterilized aqueous extracts of Tithonia diversifolia, Chromolaena odorata and Tridax procumbens on mycelial growth and sporulation density of fungal pathogens were also determined in vitro. Aqueous extracts of the test plants significantly (p < 0.05) reduced mycelial growth of the fungal pathogens. Tithonia diversifolia extract inhibited mycelial growth of C. arachidicola by 96.17% while C. odorata extract reduced mycelial growth of A. alternata by 90.74%. Tridax procumbens extract suppressed mycelial growth of C.

Nitrogen and hydrogel combination in oat grains productivity

Hydroretentors in the soil can facilitate the maintenance of moisture and contribute to the efficiency of nitrogen use to the development of oat grains. The objective of the study is to verify if there is an efficiency increase of nitrogen use in oat grains productivity by the use of hydrogel and, if the hypothesis is confirmed, to define the optimal combination of N-fertilizer with the biopolymer in high succession systems and reduced N-residual release.

Development of cassava-based pasta (manihot esculenta cranz): physico-chemical, microbiological and sensory evaluation

The aim of the present study was to develop a cassava-based pasta using cassava flour. It cassava residue was added, taking full advantage of the raw material and nutritionally improving the product developed. Centesimal composition, microbiological analysis and the evaluation of the sensorial analysis was applied by hedonic scale. From the results obtained of the centesimal composition, in g/100 g of sample was observed: humidity 4.31; Proteins 9,18; Lipids 6.18; Carbohydrate 71.63; Total fibers 7.49; Fixed mineral residue 1,21.
