Ação educativa para segurança no domicílio e prevenção de intoxicação em crianças

Objetivo: Identificar mudanças no cotidiano domiciliar em famílias de crianças intoxicadas após ação educativa toxicológica. Métodos: Pesquisa descritiva, exploratória e de natureza qualitativa, com referencial metodológico da pesquisa convergente assistencial, e sistematizada em dois momentos: intervenção hospitalar e domiciliar. Participaram 11 familiares de crianças atendidas na Sala de Reanimação e Estabilização e na UTI Pediátrica de um hospital ensino região Noroeste do Paraná e cadastradas no Centro de Controle de Intoxicações do Hospital no período de março a outubro de 2015.

Leishmaniose tegumentar americana em crianças brasileiras: análise epidemiológica dos últimos dez anos

Introdução: As Doenças Tropicais Negligenciadas (DTN) podem prejudicar a vida de mais de um bilhão de pessoas ao redor do mundo. Considerada uma DTN, a Leishmaniose apresenta-se em duas principais formas clínicas: Leishmaniose Visceral (LV) e Leishmaniose Tegumentar Americana (LTA). Nesse sentido, os impactos causados pela LTA podem gerar danos à criança no que diz respeito ao crescimento e ao desenvolvimento infantil. No que se refere a crianças acometidas pela LTA, identificam-se poucas investigações científicas, dificultando a assitencia integral e humanizada a essa população.

Risk of coronary heart diseases in chronic renal failure patients in al-leith hospital

This study was conducted with the main objectives of determination the risk of Coronary Heart diseases in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) in 25 Saudi males and females patients on hemodialysis. The data was collected from the unit of hemodialysis in Al - leith hospital. So 25 patients with kidney failure were tested, Following the distribution of the questionnaire, the following results were obtained: - The proportion of women is greater than men with renal failure (women 64% and men 30%) -The number of patients who have been diagnosed with heart disease after 4% renal failure.

Impression techniques for the resorbed mandibular arch- a guide to increased stability

All clinicians face the common problems in making complete denture prosthesis for patients exhibiting high degree of bone resorption. Though resorption can be prevented to an extent but sooner or later it comes back to haunt the clinician. The result is a dissatisfied patient with a loose prosthesis ready for a new one. The real problem lies in the capturing the oral tissues and using them for creating retention and stability in the prosthesis.

Users’ experience assisted by cuban doctors participating in the more doctors program

Objective: To investigate the users’ experiences under the assistance of Cuban doctors participating in the More Doctors Program. Methods: a qualitative study, conducted with users from the Primary Health Care in a Brazilian capital, whose Cuban doctors were participants in the More DoctorsProgram. Data were collected by semi-structured interviews, fully transcribed and organized according to the Collective Subject Discourse technique. The results were discussed by adopting the theoretical reference of Social Representations.

Prevalence of injuries and musculoskeletal symptoms in amateurs athletes of bodybuilding affiliated to IFFB/BA

In the 20`s and 30´s, the weightlifters decided to migrate to bodybuilding aiming more recognition of the society through a body with developed and symmetric muscular mass. Even as others sports, bodybuilding is susceptible to injuries during the training process and this can cause financial prejudices, laborlicense and treatment costs impacting in the athlete health and quality of life. The aim of the present study was to identify the prevalence of injuries and musculoskeletal symptoms in amateurs athletes of bodybuilding.

Matricaria recutita tea compress versus Brassica oleracea ointment for prevention of radiodermatitis in women with breast cancer

Objectives: To compare the effect of Brassica oleracea extract ointment (cabbage ointment) and Matricaria recutita (chamomile) tea compresses for the prevention of radiodermatitis in women with breast cancer. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Setting: Radiotherapy Department of the Hospital Araújo Jorge (Goiania, Brazil). Subjects: The sample consisted of women initiating adjuvant radiotherapy for breast cancer. Interventions: Participants were randomized into two groups. Group 1 (n=23) received chamomile tea bags to be applied as compresses twice a day at room temperature.

Pesquisa de sujidades leves e análise microbiológica em carne mecanicamente separada produzida com resíduos de filetagem de tilápia (Oreochromis Niloticus)

O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar sujidades leves e parâmetros microbiológicos presentes em Carne Mecanicamente Separada produzida com resíduos de filetagem de tilápia. A metodologia para determinação de sujidades leves foi realizada pela adaptação da metodologia, descrita pela AOAC (2000). As análises microbiológicas realizadas foram: enumeração de coliformes termotolerantes, contagem de unidades formadoras de colônias (UFC/g) de Staphylococcus coagulase positiva, presença de Salmonella spp.

Impact of serum sodium on heart rate variability in Dialytic chronic renal patients

Objective: to analyze the influence of serum sodium (sNa) on heart rate variability (HRV) in chronic dialytic renal patients. Methods: cross-sectional study with comparative approach with subjects undergoing maintenance hemodialysis and a control group. Resting HRV, in time (TD) and frequency domain (FD) analysis, and evaluation of biochemical markers of renal function were performed.The volunteers were allocated into three groups: normotremia dialysis group (NDG), hyponatremia dialysis group (HDG) and a control group (CG).

Os desafios enfrentados por cuidadores de idosos com alzheimer

Doença cerebral crônico-degenerativa, progressiva e irreversível, o Alzheimer, torna o paciente dependente de um cuidador, por ter sua integridade física, mental e social afetada.Considerada a mais comum e prevalente entre idosos, a mesma não tem cura, contudo a terapêutica empregada retarda a sintomatologia. Apresenta etiologia multifatorial com características neuropatológicas e neuroquímicas específicas.Com isso, o cuidador deve compreender a progressão clínica da doença e assim assistir o paciente integralmente.
