Evaluation of in vitro dry matter digestibility of selected indigenous tree browses as feed for ruminant livestock in central equatoria state of the republic of south

Browse tree leaves from Acacia nilotica, Balanites aegyptiaca, Combretum adenogonium, Sclerocrya birrea and Ziziphus spina-christi were evaluated for in vitro gas production andpotential degradability. Browse species were selected from a field survey. All the parameters studied varied significantly (P < 0.05). Means for in vitro gas production incubation time intervals ranged from 30.6 to 45 ml/kg DM for 3 and 96 hrs, respectively. Balanites aegyptiaca, C. adenogonium and Z. spina-christi at 48hr had high gas production potential compared to A. nilotica and S. birrea.

Community based factors affecting community wildlife conservancy in achieving ecotourism, merti sub- county, isiolo county, Kenya

This study focused on the challenges facing community wildlife conservancy in promoting ecotourism in Isiolo County, Kenya. Community based wildlife conservancy has become a popular approach especially in Africa since it has been found to be effective in conservation of wildlife outside protected areas and for ecotourism developments. However, the community based wildlife conservation approach faces a number of challenges undermining its achievement of goals in ecotourism activities.

Perception of indoor spatial quality in public residences in Akure, Nigeria

This study investigated the synergy between the residential indoor spatial configuration and the perception of use of the space by the occupants. This was done with the intention of fostering a better design for satisfaction having understood human condition and specific definition with their fundamental philosophy of communication with space. The primary data was sourced through the use of a questionnaire administered to the residents in the study area and further study utilised relevant text and publications on the subject matter.

Effect of sintering temperature on the dielectric and microstructure properties of cacu3ti3,90 co0,10 o12 ceramic

In the present paper, nanosized calcium copper titanate (CaCu3Ti4-xCoxO12, CCTCO, x=0.10) powders were synthesized by solid state route. The microstructure and dielectric properties of polycrystalline CCTO samples sintered at different temperatures were investigated. The results which obtained showed grain growth with increasing of sintering temperature. On other hand, dielectric constant of CCTCO sintered at 950 and 1000 °C showed frequency and temperature dependence in the range of 103 to 2.106 Hz, and gives values of 903 and 995 measured at room temperature and 103 Hz, respectively.

Kikuchi-fujimoto disease: case report and review

OBJECTIVE: The development of associated febrile to lymphadenomegaly leads to several diagnostic hypotheses, among them the Kikushi-Fujimoto disease. METHOD: This review was set up by searching PubMed/Medline, Web of Science and Scopus database using the following key words:“Kikushi disease”, “Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease”, “histiocytic necrotizing”, “lymphadenitis”, “lymphadenopathy”. RESULTS: We report a case in a young patient with a fever associated with the emergence of adenomegalies and weight loss in two months, associated with hepatosplenomegaly.

Phytochemicals as radio-protective agents: Review and update

The development of radioprotective agents has been a subject of intense research in view of their potential for use within a radiation environment, such as space exploration, radiotherapy and even nuclear war. Since no ideal, safe synthetic radioprotectors are available to date, the search for alternative sources, including plants, has been on-going for several decades. In the Traditional Indian system of medicine, several plants have been used to treat radiation-mediated ailments.

Homeopathy a nanomedicine– identification and characterization of nps in hypericumperforatum 6c, 30c, 200c, 1m, 10m, 50m and cm

Homeopathy is a therapeutic method discovered by DrSamuel Hahnemann and is being practiced around the world. The validity of the science of homeopathy was questioned due to the lack of evidence of any material content in its ultra-high dilutions. The current paper as well as the earlier research papers of the author established the presence of large number of nanoparticles and quantum dots in all scales of dilutions of homeopathic drugs. The body of evidence presented are sufficient to establish the fact that homeopathy is not a placebo therapy but a nanomedicine.

Chemical composition and evaluation of the antifungal, cytotoxic and modulatory activity from essential oil of aloysia lycioides cham

This study aimed to analyze the chemical composition of the essential oil of Aloysia lycioides Cham, as well as to evaluate the antifungal, cytotoxic and modulatory activity of this oil against Candida species. The oil, analyzed by Multidimensional Gas Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectrometry had its antifungal activity determined for 12 Candida species according with Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).
