Overview of systematic reviews for the safety of probiotics on different populations and conditions

Objectives: To summarize evidence about the safety of probiotics for various clinical conditions based on recent systematic reviews. Methods: Overview of systematic reviews was conducted. Abroad and domestic databases were searched for systematic reviews that assess the safety of probiotics. “Systematic review” combined with “probiotics” or “synbiotics” were used as search terms. Reviews without systematic methodology were excluded. There was no limitation on patients and comparators.

Prediction of severity of coronary artery disease in cad patients using urinary albumin to creatinine ratio (uacr)

Introduction: Microalbuminuria (MA) is a well-known risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD). It is associated with higher cardiovascular mortality, especially in diabetics. However, there are few data linking angiographic severity of CAD to MA. Aims and Objective: The aim of the present study was to assess the albumin to creatinine ratio as a new predictor for CAD and to correlate with its severity apart from other traditional CAD risk factors.

Prognostic value of prolonged qtc interval and its dispersion in patients with stable coronary heart disease combined with nafld

Objectives: to evaluate the influence of prolonged corrected QT interval and its dispersion on the prognosis of the patients with stable coronary heart disease by a two-year cumulative proportion surviving depending on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease course. Methods: The study included 300 patients with stable coronary heart disease with and without nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. General clinical examination, electrocardiography, elastography, blood tests were conducted to all patients. Data obtained was compiled and statistical analysis was done.

Multi algorithm of loss objective function of a single phase induction motor

The research methodology involves the mathematical formulations of single objective functions (Losses) and implementing them by using four optimization tools, the objective functions and algorithms are embedding in a Matlab environment where they ( PSO, SA,GA FA) are processed and results are obtained with a graphical user interface. The computed optimisation are analysed in terms of their ability to select a correct optimal solution and computational efficiency in solving the optimization problem..

Pid controller for nonlinear interacting two tank liquid level control

Couple tank system is often used in chemical process industries to process the various liquids in the tanks. The control of liquid level in tanks and flow between the tanks is a problem in process technologies because of interaction between the tanks. The process technologies require liquid to be pumped, stored in tanks and then pumped to another tanks systematically. In this paper an efficient elementary idea about the PID controller for liquid level process for couple tanks system has been presented.

Paradesi synagogue: the regalia of jews in Kerala

The Jews of Kerala made substantial contribution to the socio-economic life of the land. The synagogues are the outstanding monuments of the Jewish heritage in Kerala. Paradesi Synagogue is the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations, located at Mattancherry, in Cochin, Kerala. Rare case of didelphys uterus with live ruptured ectopic pregnancy: case report

Background: Uterus didelphys is a rare type of uterine malformation with poor obstetric outcome. Uterus didelphys, particularly when associated with ectopic gestation, is an uncommon condition. A patient in which this situation existed has been reported. There should be a high degree of suspicion for proper management of such cases as these patients carry great morbidity and mortality if left undiagnosed and untreated. Case presentation: 34-year-old woman, G3P1L1A1 with 3 month amenorrhea with spotting pv came in emergency.

A descriptive study to assess the knowledge and coping strategies of care takers of elderly having agitated behavior in selected community, Jalandhar, Punjab

A descriptive study to assess the knowledge and coping strategies of care takers of elderly having agitated behavior in selected community. Methodology: The study setting was in the selected rural area (Vill. SaraiKhas which comes under CHC Kartarpur, Distt: Jalandhar, Punjab). It has a population of more than 7000 which contains mostly farmers and many families living outside India. The study sample comprised of 100 care takers. Purposive sampling technique was used to collect the data. Informed consent was taken from the care takers who were selected for the study.
