Academic achievement of 8th grade learners of yachuli block schools in lower subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh

In the present study the researchers intended to find out the academic achievements of 8th grade students. For this purpose, sample of 300 students from the respective area, by using random sampling technique and descriptive survey method were employed. The findings showed that no significant difference between the academic achievement of urban and rural male.

Noncommunicable disease burden in kerala

Chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) have replaced communicable diseases as the most common causes of morbidity and premature mortality worldwide. About 80% of the burden occurs in low and middle-income countries and individuals younger than 60 years. Kerala is facing high risk burden of NCDs than other states in India. NCD risk factors are also high in Kerala. An integrated and comprehensive approach is needed to control the epidemic.

Rabies is an acute viral encephalomyelitis that is almost invariably Fatal. It is caused by rhabdovirus of the genus Lyssavirus and is endemic in wild and domestic animals in many parts of the world. Areas with high risk of human infection are south- and south-east Asia (Nepal, India), but regions with increased risk also exist in Africa, South America and Eastern Europe. A case report about cadasil: mutation in the notch 3 receptor

CADASIL (Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy) is a rare autosomal dominant genetic disease characterized with recurrent stroke, migrainous headache, cognitive deficits, and psychiatric symptoms associated with mutations in the NOTCH 3 gene on chromosome 19. Here, we report a case of CADASIL who presented with left sided weakness, recurrent strokes and the diagnosis was established by the findings of head magnetic resonance images revealing characteristic white matter lesions and a mutation in the NOTCH 3 gene.

Assess the risk factors and level of postpartum depression among postnatal mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus in selected urban health centre at Chennai

Aim of the study: To Assess the level of depression among postnatal mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus. Background: Postnatal depression is the most frequent psychiatric disorder seen after childbirth, with a prevalence rate of 10% to 15%. The women at risk need to be identified by a valid and reliable method, either using a screening instrument or an interview schedule. Postnatal depression rates have increased significantly over the past 50 years, up from 8% in the 1950s to 27% today (and with a further 25% also feeling that they've possibly suffered). Why is this?
