Sericin exerts antioxidation on testis and epididyms of c57bl/6 mice fed high fat diet

Hyperlipidic diets rich in saturated fatty acids may negatively interfere with male fertility, as it facilitates the occurrence of oxidative stress. This study evaluated the antioxidant effect of oral administration of sericin on testis and epididymis of C57BL/6 mice fed a hyperlipidic diet. Four groups (n 5) were formed: Control (C); Sericin (S); High fat (HF); High fat + Sericin (HFS). The hyperlipid diet was offered to the HF and HFS animals, every days for 14 weeks, whereas C and S were fed a standard diet during the same period.

Effectiveness of abdominal breathing exercise on reduction of blood pressure among patients with hypertension

Aim of the study: To assess the the effectiveness of abdominal breathing exercise on blood pressure among patients with hypertension. Background: Hypertension is a major public health problem in India and world, because of its high frequency and concomitant, there is a risk of cardiovascular and kidney disease. The hypertension makes people five times more prone to stroke and three times more likely to have heart attacks. The prevalence for hypertension in India was 29.8% and about 33% urban and 25% rural Indians are hypertensive.

Direct medical cost of patients hospitalized and suffering of acute psychotic disorders at lomé

Objectives: Evaluate the direct medical cost of hospital admission grant of patients with acute psychotic disorders at Campus Teaching hospital of Lomé. Materials and method: This was a retrospective study of the clinical records of patients admitted in the psychiatry unit of the Campus Teaching hospital of Loméfrom 1 March 2012 to 28 February 2014. Results: The hospital frequency of acute psychotic disorders was 63.3%. The average age of the patients was 31.89 +/- 9.30. We noted male predominance with a sex ratio of 1.1.

Comparison of relative age averages with chosen basic motoric characteristics

The purpose of this study is to compare the age averages to the chosen motoric characteristics. The universe of the study consists of 59 volunteer students training in the sports camp of Istanbul Yakuplu Sports Club. The height, weight measurement, body mass index, felxibility, right hand grip strength, left hand grip strength, balance, agility and standing long jump measurements of the volunteers participating in the study were taken. The data was recorded with the package program SPSS. Anova and t test were used in the comparison of the data. P<0.05 value was considered meaningful.

A study to assess the impact of early and late ambulation on maternal outcome of mothers with caesarean birth in a selected hospital in mangalore

Caesarean section is a life-saving procedure and with the advances in anaesthetic services and improved surgical techniques, the morbidity and mortality of this procedure have come down considerably. Caesarean section is associated with risks of post-operative adhesions, wound infections and also poses a barrier to breast-feeding initiation. In a developing country like India, it is important to look at the interventions that will make a difference and facilitation of the early ambulation may help to overcome the challenges and barriers facing post caesarean women.

Calculation of optimal margins between clinical target volume (ctv) and planning target volume (ptv)

The purpose of this study was to estimate the CTV-PTV margin required for prostate cancer cases at the radiotherapy department of Basvatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, Hyderabad. Portal image data from patients treated at the radiotherapy departments during the period of 2013-2015 was used to estimate the set-up displacements for each prostate area. By using the acquired images the magnitude of the systematic, i.e. preparatory, and random, i.e. execution, error was determined in the anterior- posterior (AP), superior-inferior (SI) and right-left (RL) direction.

Power electronics converters with fuzzy control based for wind turbine systems

In this paper, a fuzzy logic control (FLC) is proposed for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in wind turbine connection to Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) and also a fuzzy logic controller based wind energy conversion system where total harmonic distortion is better than PI controller. A fuzzy control strategy for achieving maximum benefits from these grid-interfacing inverters when installed in single phase load connection.

Investigating the center of percussion (cop) of cricket bat using accelerometer sensor – a pilot study

The purpose of this study was to find out Investigating the Center of Percussion (COP) of Cricket Bat. To achieve the purpose of the study, cricket bat (reebok yuvi burn) was selected by the investigator. The variable selected for this study was Center of Percussion (COP). To measure the Center of Percussion (COP) accelerometer sensor was used. The collected data were statistically analyzed by the repeated measures design of ANOVA. In all the cases 0.05 level significances was fixed.

Comparision of two treatment techniques: shockwave therapy and ischaemic compression in subjects with upper trapezius myofascial trigger point

Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to compare the effects of ESWT technique versus ischemic compression technique on subjective pain, pressure pain threshold and trapezius flexibility for subjects with upper trapezius muscle MTrP. Methodology: 60 subjects both males and females with the mean age of (23.46 ± 2.31) were randomly assigned into 2 groups. Subjects in Group A received shockwave therapy with MET and subjects in Group B received ischemic compression with MET. Treatment was given 5 times a week for 2 weeks.
