Pattern of metabolic syndrome among systemic lupus erythematosus patients attending in a tertiary care hospital

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) patients having metabolic syndrome (MS) are at increased risk of future cardiovascular disease. This cross-sectional study is done for one year to find out the different patterns of metabolic syndrome among SLE patients, were evaluated according to the case record form with particular reference to patterns of metabolic syndrome. All investigations were done in the Biochemistry Department of CMCH and also in some recognized Private Laboratory if those are not available at CMCH.

Epidemiological study of hypoxic- ischemic encephalopathy in newborn babies in al-khansaa and al-batool teaching hospitals in mosul city.

Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is an important cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality that may lead to permanent damage to brain tissue. It is result from lack of oxygen and /or ischemia to the brain before, during and after delivery. To determine the prevalence rate of Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) in Al-Khansaa and Al-Batool Teaching Hospitals in Mosul city from the April 1st 2018 until the end of December 2018, and to assess selected risk factors which may be reliable predictors for HIE, as well as the contribution of these risk factors to the severity of HIE .

HCV in prison in France, national survey 2017: fewer patients but more treatments than in 2015

Background and Aims: Prevalence of HCV infection is high among prisoners. In France, penitentiary medical units (USMP) are managed by public hospital since 1994. In 2015, a French national 2015 survey describes the state of play of diagnosis and treatment of HCV prisoners. From 2016, all the prisoners can be treated whatever their liver fibrosis is. Objective: Describe national HCV diagnostic and therapeutic practices in French prisons in 2017 and to compare with the 2015 results. Method: email survey about practices in 168 USMP.

Outcome of operative treatment of displaced lateral condyle fractures of the humerus in children in relation to time of presentation

Background: Lateral condyle fractures in children are the second most common fracture around the elbow. The problem arises in those cases which are difficult to treat by cast or by close reduction with percutaneous pin fixation. Late presentation is another challenge. We were select surgical treatment for such cases up to 12 weeks to evaluate our results. Aim: The short term outcome of usefulness of open reduction and k –wire fixation of displaced, unstable with or with rotation of lateral condyle fractures of humerus in children presenting up to 12 weeks post injury.

Influencing factors of early weaning and its implications in infant health

Objective: To analyze the factors related to early weaning. Method: An analytical research with a cross-sectional design carried out from December 2017 to April 2018 in a Primary Health Care Unit, Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. A total of 136 nurses participated, using a semi-structured form, whose data were processed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences to perform a descriptive and inferential analysis by association between independent variables and the outcome (early weaning). The Pearson chi-square test was performed with significance level of p <0.05.

Research on teaching mode of engineering materials for undergraduate major of nondestructive testing

The advantages and disadvantages of several popular teaching modes are analyzed, and puts forward and designs interactive teaching modes for Engineering Material courses. A total of 108 students from 4 classes were selected as experiencers of the teaching mode. Specific teaching contents are selected for teaching practice according to various teaching modes. Questionnaire survey was designed after class. The questions mainly related to the teaching effect and students' satisfaction with the course, and the survey results were processed and analyzed.

Computer analysis of magnetic devices of information control systems automatics

In the paper the possibility of computer analysis of quite complex magnetic devices used in information control systems by one of the numerical methods, by the method of secondary sources, is considered. The proposed calculation algorithm allows the use a variety of computing systems and this can significantly reduce the complexity of the process and allow virtually less error. In this case, it is possible to effectively apply this method for wider range of various magnetic elements and devices of information control systems automatics.

Effects of exergames on the variability of the heart rate of university students

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effects of an EXG on the variability of the heart rate (HRV) in young people. The participants were divided into two groups: Exergame Group (GE) and Control Group (GC). Initially, anthropometric assessments were performed and to analyze the physical activity's level the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) short version was used. The HRV was recorded through the Polar V800® heart rate monitors in both groups in two moments, before and after 11 weeks and the data was transferred to the Kubios® software for analysis.
