Ear pinna keloid (vranagranthi) and its management through ayurved: a case study

Ear pinna keloid is a rare benign, dermal, fibro-proliferative growth characterized by excessive formation of collagen, without any malignant potential. It is one of the most challenging conditions to treat due to high recurence rate. Ksharsutra is the potential therapies mentioned in Ayurveda for such conditions. Ksharsutra is used simultaneously for excision, healing, after excision is considered to be effective in avoiding the recurrence in conditions of benign outgrowths such as ear pinna keloid.

Discente de enfermagem na educação em saúde no contexto escolar

Objetivo: descrever as experiências de uma discente da graduação em enfermagem na prática de educação em saúde relacionado às Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis (IST’s) à saúde do adolescente e jovem no contexto escolar. Método: trata-se de um relato de experiência de educação em saúde realizada com 120 estudantes na faixa etária entre 14 a 19 anos de escolas pública e privada da cidade de João Pessoa-PB, Brasil.

Percepção da pessoa idosa em relação à visita domiciliar realizada pelo enfermeiro

Objetivo: compreender o significado da visita domiciliar do enfermeiro a partir da percepção da pessoa idosa. Método: trata-se de um estudo do tipo transversal, com abordagem qualitativa desenvolvido em uma Unidade de Saúde da Família do município de Alhandra, Paraíba. Os dados foram coletados no período de setembro a outubro de 2018. Foram incluídos indivíduos com 60 anos ou mais, de ambos os sexos adscritos na Unidade de Saúde da Família e que residiam a mais de um ano na área, respeitando-se a saturação dos dados a amostra final contou com quatorze idosos.

Teaching of nursing in mental health and psychiatry through teaching discourse in manaus-amazonas

We investigate how the teaching takes place in mental health and psychiatry in Nursing undergraduate courses in the speeches of teachers who teach this discipline in ten community colleges in the city of Manaus, Amazonas, two of them public, and eight private. The period of data collection was from February to May 2014. We used a qualitative research, descriptive and exploratory, with the data collection technique, interviews and structured questionnaires for analysis using Bardin, where there was the possibility of Careful analysis of the material.

Minimum or conscious sedation with use of benzodiazepines in pediatric dentistry

Minimal or conscious sedation is defined as a state of minimal depression of consciousness obtained with the use of medications in which the patient is able to maintain respiration in a natural and autonomous manner responding to the isolated verbal stimulus or accompanied by tactile stimulation. Among the main drugs used in the minimum sedation are benzodiazepines (BZD), which promote muscle relaxation, lower levels of consciousness, induce drowsiness, reduce anxiety, stress, fear, and phobia.

Practices of university students related to health care: integrating review of literature

The aim of this study was to identify in the literature the practices carried out by university students related to health care. This is an integrative review of the literature, carried out in May 2019, in the Scopus databases, Web of Science, National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health (PubMed), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). The guiding question was: What are the practices performed by university students related to health care?.

Relação do tipo de parto com a capacidade muscular respiratória de puérperas

Objetivo: analisar a capacidade respiratória em puérperas e a sua relação com o tipo de parto. Materiais e Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo transversal, analítico, e quantitativo, realizado em duas maternidades na cidade de Vitória da Conquista na Bahia. A coleta de dados foi realizada com 42 puérperas, nas primeiras 24 horas pós-parto, sendo 21 de parto normal e 21 de parto abdominal, através de um questionário sociodemográfico e a medição das pressões respiratórias máximas por meio da manovacuometria digital.

Impacts of education mediated by digital technologies in continuing education in nursing: a quasi-experiment

The study aimed to assessthe contributions of education mediated by digital technologies toward updating and acquiring knowledge on cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the nursing team of a public teaching hospital in Brazil. It used a quasi-experimental, before-and-after design, with one single group. Data collection, based on information from the Virtual Learning Environment, was through sociodemographicquestionnaires, and pre- and post-tests, after the reading and completion of the informed consent form.

The sexuality of climateric women who have heart disease

Introduction: Approaching sexuality is a complex task. The discussion of this subject is superficial, oblivious to the needs and does not permeate all institutions. This hinders the necessary interventions to promote active sexuality. Objective: To investigate the sexuality of climacteric women with heart disease. Material and methods: Thirteen (13) women were selected from a database of a larger project (40 women) through non-probabilistic sampling.

Intergerationality: How are relations between elderly and young adults given?

This study carried out a systematic review of the literature from 2008 to 2018, aiming to understand the state of the art of the subject, through the analysis of scientific articles of periodicals indexed in databases, as well as theses and dissertations registered in the CAPES portal/MEC, having as guiding question "How do the relations between elderly people and young adults of the same family are given?". According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 18 papers, 02 theses and 03 dissertations were selected, adding 23 studies that compo-sed the article.
