Water is our most precious natural resource and something that most of us take for granted. We are now increasingly becoming aware of the importance of water to our survival and its limited supply. The human beings require water for various purposes. The most part of the earth surface i.e. about 71 % is covered by water. Out of total volume of water available on the surface of the earth 97 % is saline water, 2 % water is in the form of ice and glaciers and only 1 % is fresh and potable water. India is well endowed nations in the world in terms of average annual rainfall.

Older people and psychoactive substances, associated psychosocial aspects: an integrated systematic review

The objective of this research was to investigate aspects related to the use of psychoactive drugs by older people of both genders. The study was an integrative systematic review, in a descriptive and qualitative way from the Brazilian virtual library in health. According to the systematization of the findings, it was possible to verify that there is a shortage of sources about the proposed perspective, also, the identification and professional action before the health services, due to the limitation of knowledge related to the consumption of drugs in old age.

Eventos adversos: porque os profissionais de saúde não notificam?

For World Health Organization, patient safety corresponds to minimizing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with health care. The issue of patient care security in institutions seems so obvious and embedded in daily life that when the media reports the occurrence of errors in health care, the reaction is perplexing. Thus, the objective of this study is to discuss the knowledge of nurses professionals related to adverse events, notification and feelings involved in this process.

Temperature trends in the lower latitudes countries of the continent of Africa (1901 – 2015)

The temperature trends from 1901 to 2015 for the African countries located between the latitudes15oNorth to 15o South are presented. The area of study has different climate and topographic characteristics. The world’s second largest tropical forest is located in this area, is also an area of unique biodiversity, and a significant carbon sink. The data shows a temperature increase with time and avariable temperature increase rate. Average temperature differences of up to 2.1oC are observed between the years 2000 to 2015 compared to the years 1901 to 1999.

Identificação da oferta das práticas integrativas e complementares

Objetivo analisar a oferta das Práticas Integrativas e Complementares em 26 municípios do Núcleo Regional de Saúde–Sul na Bahia. Método: trata-se de um estudo quantitativo e descritivo. Foram entrevistados 22 secretários de saúde em municípios da Bahia para conhecer a oferta das práticas integrativas nos serviços de saúde do Sistema Único de Saúde. Resultados: obteve-se que dos 26 municípios desta regional, 15 (57%) ofertam alguma das práticas integrativas, sendo estas práticas executadas na sua grande maioria em unidades de saúde, seguidos dos serviços da atenção especializada.

The importance of dental marketing actions, respecting ethical aspects in a highly competitive market in modern dentistry

Increasingly, the dental market becomes competitive. Brazil has about 280 thousand dental surgeons duly registered in the class organs, besides other professionals who act illegally performing non-invasive procedures. This extremely competitive market requires professionals to seek legal forms and methods with marketing actions, aiming to reach, guide and attract new patients. This work aims to address the different forms of dental marketing, defining how these actions can strengthen the bonds between professionals and patients, becoming a strategy to face the competitive market.

Employment of platelet rich fibrine and leukocytes (l-prf) in post extraction: a literature review

Fibrin Rich in Platelets and Leukocytes (L-PRF), is an autologous biomaterial, a second-generation blood product consisting of leukocytes, platelets and a dense three-dimensional network of fibrins that are simple and without biochemical manipulation of blood tissue used for healing. This study aims to describe the use of platelet and leukocyte-rich fibrin (L-PRF) in post-extraction alveoli through a literature review.

Hormesis effect of 2, 4- dichlorophenoxiacetic acid in soy seeds

Herbicides of the auxin mimic group, such as 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic (2,4-D), at low dosages may show a direct relation to the growth and development of the plant, in order to evaluate the influence of the different dosages of this plant herbicide in soybean (Glycine max) crop. The seeds were treated with fungicides and insecticides and then with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic dimethylamine salt and inoculated. The experimental design was completely randomized (DIC), composed of five treatments with eight replicates, using seeds without inoculant and with inoculant of Bradyrhizobium sp.
