Evaluation of the stress in the firefighters of the urban community of antananarivo

Introduction: Firefighter stress is a specific work stress due to the urgency and the need for performance in the trade. The objective of our study is to evaluate stress among firefighters to determine stressors in firefighters and study their response to stress. Methodology: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional, and monocentric study in the Antananarivo Urban Community Fire Station in Tsaralàlana for a period of 35 days. Results: A total of 36 firefighters were selected, with an average age of 35.41% in a predominantly male population.

Pattern of diabetes management for patients in outpatient department of a tertiary hospital of Bangladesh

Background: Glycemic control is the key to preventing acute and chronic complications of diabetes mellitus. Change in life style and medication are the way to achieve control and prevent complications. Numbers of drug including insulin developed till date. These drugs are effective when lifestyle is changed. Numerous guidelines developed for judicial use of these drugs based on evidence in clinical trials. Both physician`s and patient’s factors found to be responsible for overall poor control of diabetes.

Nurses' knowledge about the performance and interpretation of the electrocardiogram

Intui-se descrever o conhecimento de enfermeiros na realização e interpretação de eletrocardiograma em um hospital público de médio porte do sul do país. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa, exploratória, descritiva, desenvolvida com nove enfermeiros nas Unidades de Emergência e de Tratamento Intensivo (UTI), por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e análise de traçados cardíacos. O posicionamento correto dos eletrodos sob a pele do paciente foi identificado por 33,3% dos enfermeiros em todas as derivações, e 66,6% erraram a colocação de duas ou mais derivações ou não souberam responder.

Both hospital and home-based care practices have contributed to delay in seeking care at the health facilities. However, few studies have investigated how home-based practices contribute to the delay.

Delirium is a change in attention or awareness associated with changes in cognition, which occurs over a short period of time, may originate from cortical and subcortical dysfunctions, due to problems in the concentrations of neurotransmitters, responsible for cognitive function, behavior and mood. Eating And Oral Hygiene Habits Of Foreign Academics Before And After Arrival In BRAZIL: A Qualitative Study

Young foreigners entering university are more susceptible to behavioral changes. The study aimed to determine the changes in eating habits and oral hygiene, before and after arrival in Brazil, of foreign academics from African countries, from a Brazilian university of international nature. This is an exploratory, descriptive and qualitative study, conducted with African academics from different courses and semesters. After consent and completion of the questionnaire, the content analysis technique was applied.

Male partner involvement among hiv positive women receiving option b+ prevention of mother to child transmission of hiv and its associated factors, eastern zone, Tigray, Ethiopia

Background: Prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV is one of the strategies to prevent pediatrics HIV infection.Poor male partner involvement in option B+Prevention of mother to child transmissionservices is one of the factors contributing to reduced effectiveness of the PMTCT services and hence failure to achieve the elimination of maternal to child transmission of HIV. Therefore, this study was assessedmale partner involvement in the option B+ PMTCT services and its associated factors, Eastern zone, Tigray, North Ethiopia.
