Assessment of antimicrobial prospective of crude extracts of leaves, bark and fruits of ziziphuslotus L.

Ziziphus lotus, belonging to the Rhamnaceae family, is a deciduous shrub which generally grows in arid and semiarid regions of the globe. The aim of the present study was to assess the antimicrobial activity of solvents with wide range of polarity of various parts of Z. lotus against Klebsiellapneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, Mycobacterium smegamatisusing agar well diffusion method. The collected plant part was processed for themaceration extraction followed by solvent evaporation. The antimicrobial activity was assessed by agar well diffusion method.

Vinasse and tebuthiuron application to sugarcane soil and its effects on bacterial community and ecotoxicity after natural attenuation

Soil fertility and weed control are fundamental factors for vinasse and herbicide applications in sugarcane crops, however environmental damage can be caused by their continuous and increasing use. Therefore, the present study aimed to analyze the changes in microbial community and ecotoxicological potential of sugarcane soil for different associations of vinasse and tebuthiuron. The experimental design was completely randomized in a factorial scheme 4x2, linked to vinasse volume (V0-0,5-1,0-2,0) and to tebuthiuron recommended dose (H0-1).

Impact of receiving training on wheat productivity in oromia regional State, Ethiopia

This study examines the impact of receiving training on wheat productivity using 837 sample farm households in Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. It employed Propensity score matching (PSM) technique since it is an increasingly utilized standard approach for evaluating impacts using observational data. And the study revealed that receiving training on wheat during the farming season appears to significantly increase productivity on the average by 28 to 36% for farm households in the study area.

Analysis fossintetic pigments of genotype ps1319 cocoa seedlings submitted to different irrigation depth

Water availability is one of the main factors that affect the production of high quality cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) seedlings. Determination of photosynthetic pigment content is important because it changes when plants are subjected to stress. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different irrigation depths on the photosynthetic pigments content in genotype PS1319 cocoa seedlings.

Quality of life of road transport workers

Road transport professionals may be exposed to inadequate conditions and long working hours, poor diet, accidents and sedentary lifestyle. These conditions often result in damage to their health and diminished quality of life. This study aimed to evaluate and identify quality of life levels of road transport workers in a municipality in South Brazil. This is an exploratory, descriptive and quantitative study carried out with 50 road transport workers who answered the QVS-80 questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the Statistical Package for Social Science program version 17.0.

Performance of Brazilian higher education institutions in the innovation criteria in university rankings

The contemporary university has a greater interaction with society, which leads to a greater focus on its third mission, the transfer of knowledge. In this way, in addition to their excellence in teaching and research, universities play an important role in generating knowledge in the form of innovative ideas. Concomitantly, in recent years, university rankings have gained notoriety and importance, influencing the decision-making process of investment, evaluation, policies and even the restructuring of institutions.

Approaches of bisphosphonates and osseointegrated implants: an update of major outcomes

The most common bone disorder found by implant dentists is osteoporosis, which is a systemic skeletal disorder associated with aging, which is characterized by loss of bone mass, making bones fragile and more susceptible to fractures. The World Health Organisation has defined osteoporosis as a bone mineral density level greater than 2.5 standard deviations below the mean of young normal women. After 60 years of age, a third of the population have this disorder, it occurs twice as often in women than in men.

Research on crack detection of steel plate by permeability testing technology

The permeability testing technology is an evaluating method of microstructure changes such as stress concentration and fatigue damage by measuring the change of permeability. In order to explore its ability to detect macroscopic crack defects, a testing platform for permeability was designed, and a physical model of permeability testing crack have been built. Then use the testing platform to detect 45# steel plate which contain artificial cracks from front-side and back-side of it, and the relationship between detection signal and the excitation voltage amplitude was studied.

Adult educators’ opinions on the new technologies in distance education impact of the gender and age

In this study, it was attempted to capture the views of the students participating in distance-based technology-supported adult education training programs for new forms of education. Although similar types of education programs are not unknown to active or potential Greek educators, due to the conservative and non-evolving nature of vocational education in Greece, they do not receive the recognition they deserve to the point of the modern technological and globalized era imposes.
