Clinical-epidemiological profile of snakebite notifications in the cities of the 1st regional health management of the state of pernambuco, in the period 2009-2019
Introduction: Ophidian accidents represent a serious public health problem for tropical countries. Objective: To describe the clinical-epidemiological profile of snakebite accidents that occurred in the cities of the 1st Regional Health Management, in the State of Pernambuco, Brazil, between 2009 and 2019. Method: This is a retrospective, descriptive, quantitative, documentary study. Results and Discussion: The number of cases reported in the cities studied was 2,516 representing 28.25% of the entire state. The prevalence of this event was 7.7/100,000 inhabitants in 2019.
