Evaluation of the action and properties of thermoplastic starch / titanium dioxide / graphene nanocomposites obtained through spray drying for fruit covering

In this study, nanoparticles of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and graphene were incorporated into a matrix of thermoplastic starch (TPS) obtained from cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) with the objective of producing a material for covering fruit, aiming to last the shelf life of food. The polymeric nanocomposites (NCPs) were obtained by the solvent dispersion method and, subsequently, the spray drying technique was used to obtain the material in powder form.

Consequence of vigna unguiculata vegetables on production, productivity and soil health management

Cow pea (Vigna unguiculata) is an annual herbaceous legume vegetable crop comes under family Fabaceae which is liberal to sandy to silt soil, low rain fall and an important crop of African and Asian countries. Due to its ability to grow by using less agricultural input, able to fix atmospheric nitrogen in root nodule and acts as a valuable crop for poor and marginal farming communities its cultivation is increasing Day by Day. Cow pea is also suitable as a best inter crop in fruit orchard, with other vegetables, flowers and plantation crops.

Esse trabalho trata-se de uma revisão narrativa da literatura, manuseando os arquivos das bases de dados Scielo, Lilacs, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e Medline.

Efficiently adsorptive removal of ciprofloxacin from water by using cross-linked carboxymethyl cellulose

A series of cross-linked carboxymethyl cellulose adsorbents (CCMCs) with different degrees of carboxymethyl substitution (the molar ratios of cellulose and chloroacetic acid were 1:0.7, 1:1, 1:1.2 and 1:1.5, respectively) were synthesized through etherification and crosslinking, and were used for the removal of a popular antibiotic, ciprofloxacin (CIP) from water. CCMCs presented high adsorption capacity for CIP owing to the electrostatic adsorption and hydrogen bonding interactions.

Role of serotonin transporter gene in schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a complex mental disorder due to the involvement of several genes. Schizophrenia is mainly due to the abnormal brain function. This abnormalities is mainly involved in the transferring and processing of information’s in the brain. Nerve cells in the brain communicate with each other by releasing chemicals from the nerve endings. These chemicals are called neurotransmitters. Many of the symptoms of Schizophrenia have been linked to the abnormal activity of particular neurotransmitters. Serotonin is a type of neurotransmitter that have a major role in Schizophrenia.

Association between sars-cov-2 and helicobacterpylori infection for hyperemesis pregnancy: contribution of the nervous, immunological and endocrine systems in a bidirectional axis

Nausea and vomiting are symptoms commonly presented in the first trimester of pregnancy. However, when there is an exacerbation of these symptoms, it progresses to hyperemesis gravidarum (HG). Recent studies indicate an association between infection of the gastric mucosa by Helicobacter pylori and the occurrence of hyperemesis gravidarum. This infection has a high prevalence in pregnant women, as pregnancy itself brings risk factors for the infection to occur.
