Introdução: O Câncer Colorretal (CCR) é o terceiro câncer mais diagnosticado e o segundo lugar quanto ao número de mortes por câncer no mundo. Por outro lado, nas últimas décadas, os gasotransmissores óxido nítrico (NO), monóxido de carbono (CO) e sulfeto de hidrogênio (H2S) demonstraram evidências nas suas interações conjuntas quanto a suas condições farmacológicas bondosos no câncer, contribuindo no impedimento da sua biosssingese e no aumento da sua concentração até um limiar, de modo que desempenhe efeitos anticancerígenos.

Mosquitoes are the major cause of several diseases all over the world. Plants have a variety of small organic molecules which are secondary metabolites, and act as natural insecticides This study was planned to evaluate the insecticidal effect of Citrus clementina Hort. peel and whole fruits of Mimusops elengi L. and Ricinus communis L. on the larvae, pupae & adult stages of Culex quinquefasciatus. The tested plant parts were collected fresh and their efficacy was confirmed at different concentrations.

Characterization of bacterial community in the gut of aquacultured shrimp penaeus monodon

The knowledge of bacterial communities in the brackish shrimp farming in Kerala is still insufficient.16S rRNA gene-based high-throughput sequencing revealed distinct and diverse microbial communities in the analyzed sample. Analysis of the results showed a high abundance of Betaproteobacteria, followed by Alphaproteobacteria, Clostridia, Actinobacteria, Gammaproteobacteria and Bacilli in the metagenome retrieved from the gut sample. Unclassified bacteria also contributed a significant portion of the metagenome.

Profile of sexually abused male children in the women and child protection unit of a tertiary hospital in southern Philippines from 2003-2021

Background: Sexual abuse and violence remains a problem. It affects both the victim and the perpetrator, as well as their families and communities. Reported victims commonly involved the female children. Males as victims of such violence is underestimated. It should be addressed through a public health preventative strategy. This study provided a background of sexually abused male children admitted or evaluated in a tertiary government hospital in the Southern part of the Philippine archipelago.

Efficacy of nitrite, leucocyte esterase dipsticks and urine microscopy in the diagnosis of urinary tract infection in febrile children aged between 1 year to 5 years –a cross sectional diagnostic study

Introduction: Recognition of urinary tract infection (UTI) in children may be difficult because of the non-specific presenting symptoms, particularly in younger children. Urine culture is still considered the gold standard in diagnosis of UTI, but culture takes 48 hours for the result, and culture facility may not be available in rural setup of our country. So dip sticks have the advantage of being quick and easy to perform, interpret and cost effective. Leucocyte esterase (LE) and Nitrite (NIT) Dip stick test have been commonly used in diagnosing UTI.
