Proteins of oryza latifolia from brazilian pantanal: impact on the use of aminoacids and weight gain of animals

The rice is one of the foods of larger worldwide consumption, and its relevance is perceived by diversity of species already identified, one of them, the specie O. latifolia, common of the Brazilian Pantanal, presents itself with one possibility to be introduced in the human feed, considering the cultivation and sustainable consumption. The rice, specially the specie O. latifolia, is considered one alternative viable, because it presents high nutritional potential and when combined with the legumes offer the ingestion of essential nutrients.

Moringa olifera (shigru): a miracle tree for its nutritional, ethnomedicinal and therapeutic importance

Traditional medicinal plants have long been used to treat various ailments in the primary health care system. Shigru (Moringa oleifera) is the most widely cultivated species, fast-growing, drought-resistant, native to the southern foothills of the Himalayas in north western India, and widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical areas. It has an impressive range of medicinal uses with high nutritional value. Different parts of this plant are being employed for the treatment of different ailments in the indigenous system of medicine.

Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles from the mangrove avicennia marina and its applications

In recent years, green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) has gained much interest from chemists and researchers and also increasing commercial demand for nanoparticles due to their wide applicability in various areas such as electronics, catalysis, chemistry, energy, and medicine. The present investigation attempted on bio-synthesis of sliver nano particles. These nano particles were biologically synthesis by using mangrove plant A. marina leaf extract.

Occupational stress and depression in military firefighters

Firefighters are susceptible to depression because at work they constantly face situations involving human suffering. Objective: To study occupational stressors and the occurrence of symptoms suggestive of depression. Materials and Methods: Cross sectional study with 181 firefighters of Mato Grosso do Sul – Brazil. The instruments were used: Work Stress Scale, Beck Depression Inventory and a Social Demographic Questionnaire. Results: 52.5% of the firefighters were classified in the high and moderate levels of occupational stress.

In vitro characterization of phosphate solubilizing bacteria isolated from different agricultural fields

The phosphate solubilizing bacteria were isolated from the rhizosphere soils of Cotton, Brinjal, Bhendi, Tomato and Cluster bean. Two PSB isolates from each crop plants totally 10 PSB strains were isolated for further studies. The isolated PSB were identified by their morphological and biochemical properties. The isolated PSB strains were characterized under in-vitro by measuring the P solubilization zone in solid medium, phosphate solubilizing index, determining pH change of the medium and estimating the organic acid production, phosphates activity and available phosphorus.

Effects of copper on germination and seedling growth of different varieties of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp)

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Present study made to assess the response of Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) under the influence of copper with special reference to seed germination and seedling growth. Copper was applied in the form of copper-chloride (CdCl2 5H2O). Various concentrations of copper (0, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mgl-1) were prepared and treated with various Cowpea varieties viz., CO 2, CO 6, CO 7, Paiyur-1 and VBN-2 were used for germination studies.

A study of adhosakhagat (lower Extrimities) Marmas W.S.R. to Vaikalyakar Marmas

Marma is vital point where injury occur can lead to disability, dysfunctioning or even termination of life. It is not much developed in modern science. Acharya sushruta and vagbhata have explained it in detail in Sharirasthana of their respective samhitas. Almost all the samhitas of ayurveda have mentioned the total number of marma as 107. Marma’ s are the conglomeration of Mamsa, Sira, Snayu, Asthi and Sandhi. Little injuries to these marma points or anatomical areas can be fetal comparing with major injuries at anywhere else in the body.

Phylogenetic relationship of ten ipomoea jacq. species based on proteins and isozyme analysis

The genotype of an organism expresses itself through the phenotype that is through proteins. Protein molecular markers provide indirect information about plant genome structure. Quantitative estimation of protein content from germinating seedlings was performed by Lowry assay. Total soluble protein analysis of all the species of Ipomoea under study was carried out by Native PAGE and SDS-PAGE, followed by isozyme analysis for Esterases (EST), Peroxidases (POX), Malate dehydrogenase (MDH), Ribulose bis-phosphate carboxylase-oxygenase (RUBISCO).

Isolation and identification of multi drug resistant biofilm producer pseudomonas aeruginosa from patients with burn wound infection in basra province/Iraq

Clinical specimens were collected from 120 patients, 44 of them are males and 76 females with age range 1-70 years. A total of 49(40.8%) isolates were diagnosed as P. aeruginosa based on a number of tests and confirming by using 16SrDNA gene specific for P. aeruginosa. Results showed that the highest antibiotic resistance was in 40(81.6%) isolates resistant to Amikacin (AK), while 26(53.1%) isolates were sensitive to Colistin (CT). All isolates were resistant to more than three antibiotics, therefore classified P.

Influence of different growth regulators on propagation of Lemonia (Ravenia spectabilis and Ravenia spectabilis variegata) in sub-tropial zone

The present investigation was carried out to study the effect of different growth regulators on propagation of Ravenia Spp. in subtropical zone under naturally ventilated polyhouse equipped with foggers at Mandouri farm of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia,West Bengal. Significant differences among the treatments (IAA @1000ppm, IAA@2000ppm, IAA @3000ppm, IBA @1000ppm, IBA @2000ppm, IBA @3000ppm, NAA @1000ppm, NAA @2000ppm, NAA @3000ppm and Control) on root emergence and proliferation were noticed.
