Socio-demographic profile of senior citizens of a District health

Objective: To identify the sociodemographic profile of elderls’ caregivers and to evaluate their response to the domains and items of a depression scale. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional quantitative study, which CES-D scale to analyze the domains and their items, with a sample of 228 questionnaires, applied to caregivers of elders enrolled in the Family Health Program of the Sanitary District IV, having as inclusion criterion age above 28 years and at least 10 years living with the elder.

Method: The present study was composed of 16 medical records of children and adolescents who were or are being treated for leprosy in the years 2010 to 2013, being of the document, and exploratory, retrospective type with a quantitative approach, carried out in April/2014.

Study about decentralization bases of Samu in lages – SC, Brazil

This article refers to the analysis of the Lages bases decentralization of Emergency Mobile Care Service commonly called SAMU, from the observation of the need to decentralize the bases to the problem occurred at peak times in the main avenues and access to the neighborhoods of the City. The SAMU has been established in Brazil through ordinance 1864, dated September 29, 2003, and at Lages the service started operating in 2006, with two basic and one advanced ambulances.

Aim of the study: Assess the level of stress among school teachers in selected schools at Vellore Background: Stress has touched almost all professions posing threat to mental and physical health. Teachers especially working at university level are under a great deal of stress related to various occupational stressors. The occupational stressors occur due to various factors and it has greater ill effect on the physical and mental health of the teachers thus the study is clearly focuses on identifying stress level of teachers to promote early detection and positive management for stress.

Profile of users served in the triagem sector of a 24 hour emergency service unit

Objective was to draw the profile of the users served in the in the triagem sector of a 24 hour emergency service unit. Method: descriptive quantitative study with application of semi-structured form to 417 users in screening sector from January to July 2015. Results: it was evidenced: 63.1% were female, the age group 20-30 was predominant (24.9%), the night shift (34.6%) stood out in the visits and 80.6% came of Campina Grande. The main complaint of a headache 12.3%. As for the history of chronic diseases, 21.1% were hypertensive and 10.1% were diabetic.

Constructionism and the shifting from didactics to mathetics

In his work Spicilegium Didacticum, published in 1680, Comenius discusses mathetics (Mathetica, or ars discendi) and didactics (Didactica or ars docendi). But, unlike didactics, which curriculum development placed at the centre of the teacher-student relationship and teacher education elected as one of its essential elements, mathetics has remained almost always implied, as if it were a mere by-product or simply a consequence of didactics.

Participation in play and leisure activities of children with cerebral palsy in Rajasthan

Aim: The aim of this study was to describe the overall play participation of children with cerebral palsy (CP) aged 9-13 years by measuring what activities they participate in using the Preteen Play Profile (Henry, 2000); and to explore variations in participation in different play categories based on each child’s manual ability, gross motor function, CP distribution and gender. Material and Methodology: A total of 500 surveys were distributed from different centers for CP children using the methods previously described.

Evaluation of performance of Mgnrega with special reference to Odisha

It is first time in the history of India a programme like MGNREGA launched as an act to provide 100 days of guaranteed wage employment to the rural household willing to do unskilled manual work on demand. This act is also sensitive for the weaker section of the society such as SC, ST and Women. On the basis of secondary data for last five years the present study has undertaken to evaluate the performance of MGNREGA in a socio-economically backward state Odisha in term of providing of job on demand, completion of 100 days of work and average number of days of employment per household.
