School teachers should be educated regarding the health problems to prevent further complications. So the researcher found it relevant to evaluate the effectiveness of Self Instructional Module on school teachers regarding selected work-related health problems among school teachers in selected schools at Vizianagaram.

Palliative care for the child / oncological adolescent: narrative review

Objective: To know what is in the national scientific literature on palliative care in pediatric oncology unit. Methodology: This is a narrative review, which gathers and summarizes the scientific knowledge produced by analyzing the results already disclosed in published studies. For this, the data were collected from August to October 2015, with the inclusion criteria for selection of articles match the proposed theme, available in full format in English, published from 2007 to 2013.

Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty efficacy in proximal humeral fractures treatment: a systematic Review

Introduction: Currently there are many controversies in several aspects of surgical management of proximal humeral fractures, such as the optimal surgical approach and the role of reverse shoulder arthroplasty. For all these reasons, the main objective of the present study is to evaluate, through a systematic review of, the role of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) in proximal humeral fractures. Methods: Two reviewers independently searched through the Pubmed, Medline and Embase databases for studies published up to August 22, 2018.

Comparison of the impact of the type of medicinal treatment on the quality of life of patients with rheumatoid arthritis in a regional health of Bahia

Objective: compare the impact of the type of drug treatment on quality of life of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was performed with a sample of 100 patients. The instruments applied include Short Form (SF-6), Stanford Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) and visual analogue scale (EVA). Data analysis was done by descriptive statistics, the respective means ± standard deviation were calculated, considering Student's T-Test, ANOVA test and Chi-square test, and a significance level of p <0.05 was adopted.

Correlation between use of open footwear and incidence of open foot fractures in Brazilian bikers: a case-control study

Background: The rising number of motorcycle accidents is a major cause of death and disability, especially in the lower limbs. Objectives To study the influence of footwear type in the occurrence of open fractures. Patients and Methods: A case-control study. We interviewed 54 patients cared for at the Getúlio Vargas Hospital, a tertiary reference orthopedics center that underwent care for fractures of the foot. We aimed to compare the incidence of open fractures between patients who wore closed footwear at the time of the accident and those that did not.

Coexisting bacterial meningitis with urinary tract infection in children less than 5 years old in central child teaching hospital

Objective: To determine age-stratified prevalence of concomitant bacterial meningitis in children <5 years with a urinary tract infection, to determine the prevalence of invasive UTI and risk of meningitis following bacteremia. Method: we performed a case series study on patients admitted to our hospital suffering from UTIaged < 5 years old in the central child teaching hospital from April to November 2018.

Gastritis prevalence and presence of helicobacter pylori in a city in the north of Parana state, Brazil

Helicobacter pylori (HP) is a gastric spiral-shaped bacterium reported in humans more than one century ago. It is a fastidious bacterium that shows high motility easy penetration into the mucosa of the stomach. It is considered the major cause of gastric diseases, especially gastritis and peptic ulcers. If these conditions are not treated can evolve into some types of gastric cancer. For these reasons, this study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of this microorganism in a city from Parana State, Brazil. This retrospective study was carried out at a Medical Unit.

Conceptual map: a reflective analysis about adolescence, youth, and youths and its implications in the nursing schedule

The purpose of this study is to present a reflection on the differentiation between adolescence, youth, and youths and their implications in the nursing scenario through the construction of a conceptual map. The map exemplifies the relationship between concepts and their branching of signifiers in a similar configuration, with concepts ordered logically, hierarchically and with connecting words, establishing relationships between them, thus allowing their interpretation.
