This study aimed to analyze biopsied lesions at the Faculdade de Imperatriz, Maranhão, Brazil. A sample of 150 cases of patients who underwent a biopsy procedure during the period from 2013 to 2016 were included in the research. As data samples were performed through the reports of the archives in the dental clinic of the Faculdade de Imperatriz.
This is a sciometric study of the international scientific literature aiming to quantify research in the area of childhood obesity and epigenetics. Forty-five studies were analyzed in relation to the research site, the central theme and the impact factor of the journals that published the works. Studies are scarce, but most of them showed that environmental insults such as antibiotic use, smoking, breastfeeding or infant formula use, air pollution, among others, during intrauterine and early life, as well as pre BMI.
Objective: To analyze the impacts of mastectomy on the self-esteem of women who have cancer and who attend a high complexity hospital. Method: This is a descriptive-qualitative study conducted in a reference hospital in oncology Teresina-PI. For data analysis, the Collective Subject Discourse (CSD) method was used. Results: It was verified through the speeches, how much breast removal interferes with female self-esteem.
Introduction: The purpose of this study is to estimate the prevalence of obesity among students attending private secondary schools in Brazzaville and identify factors that contribute to weight gain. Methods: This was a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study of 1030 students in private schools. Data analysis was performed using Epi Info7 and SPSS 2.2 software. Pearson's Chi2 test, varied and multi-varied uni logistic regression were used. Results: among the 1030 students who responded to the questionnaire, 15.3% were overweight, and 5.1% were obese.
Background: late-onset sepsis continues to be an important cause of morbidity and mortality and appropriate antibiotic treatment is one of the cornerstones of successful treatment. The aims of this study were: to evaluate the rate of late onset sepsis, risk factors for disease and pathogenic micro-organisms isolated in one neonatal intensive care unit were compared following a change in antibiotic policy. Methods: the comparison was performed between three time periods: A (Sept 2010 to Aug 2011), B (Dec 2011 to Nov 2012), C (May 2013 to Apr 2014).
To point out the main activities performed by nurses through health care programs. An integrative literature review was performed in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), based on studies between 2008 and 2013 that used the descriptors: Adolescence; Primary Health Care; Adolescent Health. Through the analysis of the selected studies, two themes were selected that synthesized the production studied: health care to the adolescent and its biopsychosocial impact; and the role of nurses in adolescent health.
O objetivo deste trabalho foi ajustar modelos de regressão matemática para estimar a área foliar de carambola (Averrhoa carambola L.) a partir das dimensões lineares da superfície foliar. Ao todo, 400 folhas foram digitalizadas e processadas através do software ImageJ®, sendo obtidas as medidas do comprimento (C) ao longo da nervura central, maior largura (L), produto da multiplicação do comprimento com a largura (CL) e a área foliar observada (AFO).
Mediation analysis is a statistical tool used to study how the effect of an independent variable on an ending is transmitted through a mediator. A moderator is a variable that transform the sign or strength of the effect of an independent variable on a dependent variable. To test single mediator model Structural Equation Modeling is used and also to estimate the rapport between multiple mediator, outcome and the moderator. Objetivo: Analisar a ação antifúngica do óleo essencial de Pogostemon cablin (Lamiaceae) contra cepas de Candida krusei. Métodos: Foi desempenhada a técnica de microdiluição em caldo para obtenção da CIM (Concentração Inibitória Mínima) e da CFM (Concentração Fungicida Mínima) do óleo de Pogostemon cablin. Resultados: Diante dos resultados obtidos para o óleo testado denotou uma concentração inibitória mínima de 32 μg/mL para três das quatro cepas testadas. Já para a CFM os valores foram os mesmos que a CIM, para as respectivas cepas.
