The aim of this study was to describe the maternal and neonatal variables present at birth of children born with congenital malformations in the state of Pará, Amazon, Brazil, using the Live Birth Information System (SINASC). This is an epidemiological, descriptive, retrospective with a quantitative approach and sectional study based on secondary data on live births with congenital malformations in the state of Pará, from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2015. A total of 287,015 births were reported in the state of Pará, among which 1162 had some type of congenital malformation.

A economia solidária representa uma importante alternativa à economia capitalista, uma vez que busca resgatar valores como liberdade, igualdade e solidariedade. A proposta tem avançado no mundo, tanto pelo entendimento da necessidade de se buscar meios mais sustentáveis de sobrevivência, quanto pelo crescimento da produção intelectual na área, que impulsiona uma ampliação do entendimento sobre a categoria e seus diferenciais. No Brasil esta realidade não é diferente.

The present work evaluated scientific researches to obtain bioactive extracts of agro-industrial residues of buriti (Mauritia flexuosa L.), aiming to verify their adherence and commercial feasibility for the cosmetic sector and thus helping to prioritize alternatives for the allocation of buriti and therefore reducing investment risks. The SIMI-Biotech tool evaluated a set of environmental, economic, and social criteria, and adopted as a benchmark a company installed in the Amazon with expertise in the development and production of cosmetics from local fruits.

Copper ore production performs great importance in industrial development. In this sense, strategic elements of quality assessment should guide production, impacting the way a company distributes its resources and investments. Considering the practical impossibility of achieving a complete separation of the mineral constituents, obtaining higher contents and better recoveries (product quality) consequently implies an increase in the treatment cost (process quality).

Safety risks with plastic injection machines represent a serious problem in the plastic production chain. Even with the implementation of ABNT NBR 13536/95 to establish the minimum safety requirements for injection molding machines and its subsequent inclusion in the regulatory standard NR 12, there are risks related to work at heights and ergonomics that are not properly specified, especially during maintenance activities of the resin hopper loader or resin color change-over.

Introdução: Os pacientes têm maior probabilidade de adquirir infecções na UTI e a ocorrência dessas acarreta inúmeros problemas, como o retardo na recuperação e piora do quadro clínico existente. Objetivo: Evidenciar, a partir da literatura, a importância da higienização das mãos realizada pelos profissionais de saúde como uma das formas de prevenção das infecções na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva. This study aims to identify current factors and conditions factors relating to solid wastes produced in rural properties in the city of Pato Bragado, Paraná, Brazil. For this, it was necessary draw up an overview of selective collection in rural properties in the city. Thus, it was found out the disposition of materials in households in this space, researched how does the collection process and the difficulties found by residents in the question destination of solid waste.

Este estudo avaliou o desenvolvimento motor com a exposição ao mercúrio e o estado nutricional de escolares em duas regiões hidrográficas do Estado do Pará. Participaram 158 crianças de três escolas, duas na região do Tapajós (A e B) e uma na região do rio Acará (C).

O uso de aditivos alimentares na piscicultura tem sido amplamente estudado em relação à sua eficácia na melhoria das condições de saúde, manejo alimentar e modulações morfológicas.
