The study assessed the acute and sub chronic toxicity of Microcystisaeruginosa on Haematology and Biochemical responses in the Kidney, Liver and gills of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from Thomas reservoir, Kano, Nigeria between September and December, 2018. Field and laboratory investigations were performed using standard protocols.

Analysis of the protein content in whey protein dietary supplements

Currently, the consumption of whey protein dietary supplements has been growing. With the increased demand for this product, industries have increasingly developed whey protein-based products. This work aims to analyze the protein content of these products, verifying if the amount of protein found in the labels are truly the ones found in the product. For this verification, five best selling brands were selected on the market and a sample of 200 grams of each product that was submitted to an analysis using the Kjeldahl method was collected.

Physical-chemical and microbiological analysis of waters from moscados stream in Maringá-Brazil

Clandestine dumping of untreated sewage and occasional dumping of waste from works on water bodies is still common. These factors alter water quality and can cause eutrophication, which leads to non-compliance of some parameters in relation to the legislation. Due to these facts, the present study aimed to analyze the physicochemical and microbiological quality of the waters of the Moscados Stream in Maringá / Brazil.

Postural assessment by identifying parts using artificial intelligence

The human posture is defined by the balance of the muscular chains. This is important because throw this equilibrium a person can accomplish tasks, maintain activities with the optimal use of energy and prevent injuries. The permanent maintaining of poor posture leads to serious muscular and skeletal disorders. Many assessment methods have been created to identify imbalances and to correct postures that may lead to injury, but these methods have the disadvantage of relying on the subjectivity of the evaluator, their experience and not being able to identify minimal deviations.

Influence of different priming and drying methods on the germination of tomato seeds at different temperatures

Priming is a technique used to harmonize the germination of seeds, even under adverse conditions such as cold. We evaluated the effects of osmotic solutions, incubation times and drying speed on the physiological quality of tomato seeds. The osmotic solutions were used in the following proportions: 100% PEG 6000 (polyethylene glycol); 25% PEG + 75% KNO3 (potassium nitrate); 50% PEG + 50% KNO3; 75% PEG + 25% KNO3; and 100% KNO3, all with osmotic potential of -1.1 Mpa. The PEG 6000 solution had a concentration of 0.05M and the KNO3 solution had a concentration of 0.22M.

Sed: an editor fasta using labels of phylogeny and associated traces

Phylogenies are used to treatvarious biological functions, such as the relationships between tree topology and traits of observed species. Currently, tools are available that allow viewing and editing on phylogenetic trees, as well as creating and editing alignments. However, there is a need for a simplified tool that automatically selects sequences from an alignment based on phylogenetic information. Here we created a tool called SED (data editing software), which uses phylogeny-based files to perform statistical summaries and generate subsets of alignments.

Contribution to the inventory and chemical characterization of some traditional dishes of the people coming from the center-west of Côte D'ivoire: case of betes diets in daloa

This study deals about aimed inventairy of traditional foods consumed by Bete’s peolple of Daloa (Western center of Côte d’Ivoire). Theses dishes are prepared from exclusivly by végétales plantes. Foods venarcular names and they laefy vegetables component were carring after nutritional survey. Nutritive value were determined by standard AOAC methods. The contents in moisture, proteins, lipids, fibres and carbihydrates are determined. The results obtained are expressed in g/100 g fw for moisture and in g/100 g dw for proteins, lipids, fibres and carbihydrate.

Evaluation of the use of an electronic apex locator and behavioral analysis in child patients

This study aimed to compare in vivo the measures of working length found with the electronic apex locator Joypex 5 (Denjoy®, China) with those of conventional radiography, in addition to analyzing the behavior of the child during both techniques. The sample included 30 deciduous molar conduits of patients cared for in the Dentistry Teaching Clinic of the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande (UFCG). After the access was prepared, the conduits were irrigated with sodium hypochlorite 2.5% and sterile serum.
