Morphological changes of extensor digitorum longus muscle in the offspring of obese rats

Objective: To evaluate the morphology and morphometry of muscle fibers and neuromuscular junctions (NMJs) of the extensor digitorum longus muscle (EDL) in the offspring of obese ratsinduced by a cafeteria diet. Methods: Three-week-old female Wistar rats were randomly divided into two groups: a control (CTL) group that received a standard diet and an obese (OB) group that received a cafeteria diet. The animals were mated at 23 weeks of age. After birth, only males were used for the experiment.

Dedifferentiation of leaf cells and growth of friable calluses of capsicum annuum cv. all big

The genus Capsicum belongs to the Solanaceae botanical family and is notable for the production of secondary metabolites of medicinal and economical importance. In vitro methods have been successfully utilized for the large scale production of plant secondary metabolites. The objective of this study was to establish a protocol for dedifferentiation of leaf cells of the cultivar C. annuumL. cv.

Active and concrete evidences about sexual reproduction and life cycle in the parasitic generation of Strongyloides stercoralis in human host

Background: Strongyloides stercoralis was believed to have two kinds of life cycle. One of them was an internal parthenogenetic life cycle that constituted the parasitic generation. Some authors also stated that this parasitic generation of the internal life cycle used to reproduce only by protandrogony (i.e., hermaphroditism). The second type of life cycle was the external sexual cycle, interacting among free-living worms that represented the free-living generation in soil. The key objectives of this study were to: • verify the type of reproduction in the parasitic generation of S.

The fruit has potential as a food ingredient in lieu of walnut. Laut Island in South Kalimantan Province, of Indonesia is one of its habitats but forests there are being converted to tree plantations and to settlements, thus the pelajau populations are being reduced.

Screening Of Available Chickpea Genotypes For Resistance Potential Against Gram Pod Borer, Helicoverpa Armigera (Hubner) In Sindh, Pakistan

Gram pod borer, H. armigera (Hub.) is one of the voracious pests of chickpea that needs considerable attention for the management. Thus, present studies were conducted to find out the elite genotype from the existing materials. Ten different genotypes were tested in two different locations; Upper zone (Dokri, Larkana) and Lower zone (Tandojam) of Sindh province of Pakistan. The results regarding the pod infestation revealed significant (P < 0.05 = 0.0000) difference among ten tested genotypes.
