Income and expenditure pattern and its impact on socio-economic status of fishermen in karaikal regin

Fisheries sector occupies a important place in the socio-economic development of the country. The recent technological innovations in marine fishing have not shown much impact on the living conditions of fishermen and they are still socially and economically backward. Fish workers, particularly in the fishing communities are the most disadvantaged group. They placed in a very low status in the society. The present research aims at the income and expenditure pattern and its impact on socio economic status of marine fish workers in karaikal region.

Perception of the educational environment (ee) and common mental disorders (cmd) among medical students from a brazilian institution

The study aimed to verify the perception of the Educational Environment and the prevalence of common mental disorders (CMD) in medical students using Dundee Ready Educational Environment Measure (DREEM) and Self Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20), based on the hypothesis of a possible relationship between EE and CMD. The chi-square test was used to compare associations between items and prevalence ratio with respective 95% confidence interval. The Cox Regression was performed with the variables that presented p ≤ 0.20 in the bivariate analysis.

Effects of valeriana officinalis and passiflora sp on the behavior of wistar rats

Anxiety affects millions of adults worldwide. Valeriana officinalis (VO) contains several active compounds that may work as anxiolytic as well as Passiflora sp (PA). Due to this reason, the aim of this study is to evaluate the acute and chronic effects of Valeriana officinalis and Passiflora sp in the behavioral test of Wistar rats. Wistar rats were divided into seven groups (n= 5): G1: a control group that received saline solution; G2, G3, and G4 were treated respectively with 11, 22 and 44mg/kg of VO extract and G5, G6 and G7 with PA in the same doses used with VO.

Effects on iron and folic acid v’s honey dates amla mix on increasing haemoglobin level among adolescent girls

Anaemia is the most common nutritional deficiency disorder in the world. It is a condition that occurs when the red blood cells do not carry enough oxygen to the tissues of the body. Globally, anaemia affects 1.62 billion people, which corresponds to 24.8% of the population. Adolescent girls are particularly prone to iron deficiency anemia because of increased demand of iron for haemoglobin, myoglobin and to make up the loss of iron due to menstruation and poor dietary habits.

Chemical composition, antioxidant and allelopathic activities of essential oil of salvia officinalis L.

This study assessed the chemical composition, antioxidant and allelopathic activities of essential oil of Salvia officinalis L. Twenty-eight compounds were found (corresponding to 98.82% of the essential oil). The majors compounds were: camphor (27.59%), camphene (23.70%), α-pinene (13.75%), β-pinene (6.28%), and limonene (5.38%). Monoterpenes (68%) predominated in the essential oil.

Self-care of patients with valvular heart disease and orem education support system

Objective: To present a reflection of Orem's self-care deficit theory, centered on the support-education system for valvopathic patients using oral anticoagulants. This is a reflexive study about Orem's self-care theory in its support-education system, applied to patients with valvulopathies, considering them to be self-care, through nurses' orientation, to develop maintenance skills health and wellness.

Evaluation of the chronobiological profile and its relation with the nutritional state of night shift industrial workers

Chronobiology is responsible for studying the temporal properties of living matter, including all levels of organization, as well as the study of circadian rhythms, which are biological rhythms that oscillate around 24 hours. The objective of the present study was to reveal the chronobiological profile of night workers in an industry, as well as to detect the degree of influence of shift work conditions on sleep habits and nutritional status of workers, evidencing determining factors and attenuating expected complications.

A study on the failure of transport protein

Life is maintained by cell metabolism. The most important factor in cell metabolism is protein production and destruction. Once created, the protein must function and be ubiquitin immediately. When a three-dimensional protein which formed the helix structure and a folded structure occurs a deformation, it interferes with cell metabolism and even causes cell necrosis. In particular, modification of structure in the transport protein degrades transporting ability of the substrate, and inhibits the passage of metabolites.

A study to assess quality of sleep and sleep hygiene among patients with haemodialysis at selected hospital

Aim of the study: - To A study to assess quality of sleep and sleep hygiene among patients with haemodialysis. Background: Sleep is important process for overall physical and mental well-being. Sleep is referred a regular, recurring and easily revocable state of organism which is characterized by relative immobility and significant increase in response threshold to environmental stimuli. Sleep is an important and basic need of human and which takes approximately 1/3 of one’s lifetime process. Disturbed sleep common among patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) on haemodialysis (HD).
