Abstract:

The study aimed to verify the perception of the Educational Environment and the prevalence of common mental disorders (CMD) in medical students using Dundee Ready Educational Environment Measure (DREEM) and Self Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20), based on the hypothesis of a possible relationship between EE and CMD. The chi-square test was used to compare associations between items and prevalence ratio with respective 95% confidence interval. The Cox Regression was performed with the variables that presented p ≤ 0.20 in the bivariate analysis. The results presented in this research allows to conclude that the evaluation of the educational environment carried out by students is more positive than negative and quantitatively comparable to the results of those medical schools that use traditional curricula.
