Depression and frailty in an elderly population living in a rural area

Objectives: Determine the socio-demographical and health profile of the elderly population living in a county’s rural area; Verify this population’s frailty levels and depression symptoms’ prevalence. Method: A quantitative, descriptive-analytical approach was chosen. Data was collected through a questionnaire containing socio-demographical, health and life habits questions. Then the Edmonton Frail Scale and the Depressed Population Tracking Scale were used to measure the frailty and the depression symptoms’ presence.

Performing repetitive tasks periodically on automobile assembly line is challenging. Ergonomic design of the shop floor can affect not only operator health but his/her job satisfaction and overall productiveness. Current study takes a sample size of 95 employees working in Vehicle Chassis Frame Assembly shop at Tata Motors Ltd. and explores the impact of ergonomics on all of these factors. Horizontal reactor for bio-char production

A reactor horizontally oriented was developed for bio-char for preparation from agricultural crop residues. The study was conducted at three levels of predefined temperature of 450, 500 and 550°C and residual time duration of 60, 120 and 180 min for optimization of temperature for obtaining the better quality of bio-char. The average recovery of bio-char prepared from pigeon-pea stalk was found to be 40.30%.
