Detection of encoding gene extended spectrum beta lactamase on escherichia coli isolated from broiler chicken meat in traditional market surabaya

This study aims to isolate, to identify, and to seek out fragments of encoding gene Extended Spectrum β-Lactamase on Escherichia coli isolated from swab surface of broiler chicken meat in a number of traditional markets in Surabaya. The result shows that 31 out of 50 samples positively contain Escherichia coli, shown through EMBA isolation media and identified using indole test.

A phenomenological analysis of the incarcerated journey of adult filipino detainees

This study explored the journey and life experiences of eight adult detainees who spent their adulthood inside the Zambales Provincial Jail. The detainee-participants were selected by the researchers. The experiences of the participants were subsequently collected and enriched by the following methods; 1) Interview, 2) Questionnaire, 3) Storytelling, 4) Projective Test, and 5) Focus Group Discussion.

Investigation of the audit teaching and learning process in the nursing course: Cross-sectional study

Audit is a careful and systematic examination of the activities carried out in a given institution or sector, the purpose of which is to ascertain whether they are in accordance with the arrangements planned and / or established in advance, whether they have been effectively implemented and are (in accordance with) objectives. The objective of this study was to investigate audit teaching at a higher education institution (HEI) in the southern center of Ceará.

Maternal body mass index and pregnancy outcomes

Objectives: To evaluate the impact of the maternal body mass index on the pregnancy outcome. Materials and Methods: 100 women with singleton pregnancies during a 2-month period, were categorized into 5 groups based on their maternal Body Mass Index (BMI). The maternal and the neonatal outcome were noted in all the groups. Results: In the underweight group, the incidences of anaemia and postpartum hemorrhage were more, while the overweight and the obese women had a higher risk for PIH, gestational diabetes and postdatism. There was no significant increase in the perinatal mortality rate.

The fact that the oral mucosa may reflect internal processes of the whole organism is ancient knowledge. Therefore, it is extremely important to know that the oral mucosa plays a role in numerous systemic diseases, in some cases oral symptoms being the first manifestation of a disease. In the present review discusses some of the significant signs which act as clinical guide.

Primitive neurectodermal tumour in young adults – a report of 2 rare cases and review of literature

Primitive Neurectodermal tumours are a group of malignant neoplasms of presumed neural crest origin previously termed as “Neuroepithelioma”.They are small round blue tumours which are sub classified based on differentiation and occurs mostly in brain and very rarely in the spinal cord. We report two cases of primitive neurectodermal tumour in young adult female patients. One is in the spinal cord of a young female and another is a primitive neurectodermal tumour with neuroglial differentiation. The diagnosis was made based on the morphological and immunohistochemical examination.

Plant variety protection: an historical perspective

Plant Variety Protection is a form of Intellectual Property Right granted to the breeder of new plant variety in relation to certain acts concerning the exploitation of the protected variety which require prior authorization of the breeder. Plant breeders developing new plant varieties are able to apply for different kinds of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). However, this is the result of complex historical process that only resulted in the consideration of plants as suitable for intellectual property protection at a global scale.

Violence against woman and the family Pshysician approach: Integrative literature review

Objective: to identify in the literature how the Family Physician approach is used in the detection and referrals related to female domestic violence. This is an Integrative Literature Review of articles published between 2010 and 2016, using the terms "violence", "women" and "public health". Results: 39 articles published in English and Portuguese were analyzed, of which 15 were included because they met the study objective.
