The meaning of music in the vision of the hospitalized person

Objective: To understand the meaning of music for hospitalized patients in a medical clinic ward. Methodology: This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, carried out in a hospital located in the Triângulo Mineiro region, with 20 patients hospitalized through a semi-structured interview technique. Results: from the analysis of the data and the concepts of the historical-cultural approach, three thematic units were built: music and the transcendental dimension; Music: and the interaction with the other and the mediated relation: music as a therapeutic element.

Comparison of asthma control test (act) with (gina) guidelines in the assessment of asthma control and determine if can use act as alternative to gina guidelines in control of asthma

The gold standard in assessing asthma control is the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) criteria. and because of the difficulties of access to pulmonary functions tests, The ACT has the added advantage that it does not require lung function assessment. The aim of this study is to assess asthma control through ACT score and GINA guideline, and to determine if the ACT can be as useful as the GINA-guidelines criteria in assessing asthma control in Iraq. Cross sectional study with comparing ACT vs. GINA guideline in control of asthma level.

Characterization of oncological patients with malignant wounds

Objective: To describe the sociodemographic and clinicopathological profile of oncologic patients in palliative care who presented malignant wound seen between 2012 to 2017 in a reference hospital in the northern region of Brazil. Methodology: This is a quantitative, cross-sectional and retrospective study. The data collection was performed through the analysis of medical records with open and closed questions about sociodemographic, clinicopathological data, characterization of malignant wound and its management.

The effect of malaria infection on some hematological parameters of pregnant women in nnewi, anambra state, Nigeria

This study was designed to assess the effect of malaria infection on some haematological parameters of pregnant women in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria. A total of 100 participants aged between 18 and 36 (25±4) years were randomly recruited for the study. The participants were grouped as follows: 50 pregnant women and 50 non pregnant women. Thereafter, 5mls each of blood samples were collected from the participants for the determination of malaria parasites, hemoglobin (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV), and white blood cell (WBC) levels using standard laboratory methods.

Quality of life in children with congenital heart disease: An Integrative Review

The Congenital Heart Diseases (CHD) is a heart anatomic malformation which may cause alteration in function and also has a complex etiology without a clear cause. In this context, the investigation of these children’s quality of life becomes relevant, since the heart disease brings implications related not only to the physical structure, but also emotional and family. Objective: The aim of this study is to search scientific knowledge productions about children’s quality of life who coping with CHD.

Presence of upright t wave in v1 and its association with the coronary artery disease

Background: We aimed to determine the association of upright T wave in lead V1 and stenosis of coronary artery branches in patients who underwent coronary angiography at our center and had normal electrocardiogram. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical and coronary angiography data of patients who had normal electrocardiogram. Presence of coronary artery disease was compared between patients with and without upright T wave in lead V1 as well as other clinical and angiographic parameters.

Traumatic pulmonary pneumatoceles (pseudocyst)

Introduction: Traumatic pulmonary parenchymal cavitary lesions (TPPCs) are pulmonary pseudo cysts raiding secondary to lung contusion. Method: To provide an overview of the etiology, presentation, diagnosis and treatment of TPPCs, and to discuss this in the context of a cohort of 12 retrospectively reviewed patients with TPPCs presenting to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden, from January 2014 to December 2016. Between January 2014 and December 2016, a total of twelve trauma patients presented to Sahlgrenska University Hospital with TPPC following blunt trauma.

First contact access of the child to primary health care services: Integrative Review

With identifying the scientific evidence about the essential attribute of the First Contact Access of the child in Primary Health Care. This is an integrative review, carried out in the databases LILACS, PubMed, SCOPUS and Web of Science, in the period from June to August of 2018, totaling 14 productions. For the critical evaluation of the primary studies, the level of evidence classification was used.

Systemic arterial hypertension and associated factors in people with hiv/aids on antiretroviral therapy

This article aims at verifying the cumulative incidence of systemic arterial hypertension and associated factors in people with HIV/AIDS undergoing high-potency antiretroviral treatment. Epidemiological study of a retrospective cohort performed to patients with HIV/AIDS, attended at the Specialized Attention Service (SAE) in Ponta Grossa – Paraná, Brazil. The data were obtained by notification the records of diseases, injuries and medical records from 538 patients attended from January 2002 to December 2014.
