The effect of socioeconomic indicators on the degree of budget efficiency: a panel data analysis in the municipalities of Bahia, Brazil

The main objective of this article was to analyze the effect of the budgetary efficiency and the socioeconomic conditions represented by the indicators of Income, Health, Education and Population Size of the 417 municipalities of the State of Bahia, Brazil, from 2009 to 2013. For this purpose, based on the Panel Data estimation models, the indicator of Degree of Budget Efficiency was created,an evaluation instrument thet allows verifying whether municipalities are achieving the goals of budget planning.

Review of glass as partitioning material for sustainable interior solutions in Nigeria

In recent years, the advent of Post Modernism geared towards meeting human needs embraced the use of sophisticated building materials as a means of improving the flexibility of building interior spaces for optimum use. The need to maximize space for various purposes, a secure light transmission that enhances both light and vision, aesthetical transparency, with excellent acoustic control around a working area is invariably needed mostly in office buildings.

Solar energy: potential evaluation of energy of rondônia (brazil)

In Rondônia little is known about the behavior of solar radiation, thus follows in this paper the maximum annual distribution, minimum and average for global and direct solar radiation, the annual distribution of temperature, the maximum possible sunshine for the city of Rolim de Moura, thus providing useful information for planning and use of renewable resources.

Evaluation the wind turbines farm in the town of tafila / jordan

Tafila wind turbines farm is the largest project of wind energy to generate the electricity in Jordan until now. The major Tafilawind turbines farm (38 wind turbines) presents a 117-Mega Watt (3.075 MW/ Turbine) wind turbine power. Total design/build phase of the project is 21 months and the operations phase is 20 years, the total cost of the project is 290 million $ with100% funded through private investment which produce about4 % of the national electricity demand each year that is enough electricity to power 85,000 homes.

The efficient selection methods of genetic algorithm used in scheduling problems

The performance of a genetic algorithm (GA) depend on many factors: the selection method is one of them. It is well known that the genetic algorithm efficiency depends to a high degree upon the selection of the good GA operators and parameters that suitable to the different scheduling problems. In this paper, we find the selection methods of genetic algorithm that are more suitable for scheduling problem. Also, a number of selection methods used in scheduling problem have been described in this paper like random selection, roulette wheel selection, rank selection and tournament selection.

The bee community of ilha das flores, babitonga bay, santa catarina state, Brazil

This study carried out a survey of native bee species and their floral resources at Ilha das Flores, an island located in the Babitonga Bay, Santa Catarina State, Brazil. Specimens were captured with entomological nets, pantraps and aromatic baits. A total of 1,120 individual bees, representing 60 species distributed in four families and 47 plant species of 24 families, was sampled. Buzz-pollination by Centridini, Xylocopini and Bombini on Fabaceae plants, specific interaction between Emphorini and Convovulaceae and illegitimate visits were observed. Seasonal nesting was noticed.

Preliminary phytochemical, antioxidant and antimicrobial studies of dicliptera paniculata, (forssk.) i. darbysh

Dicliptera paniculata,(Forssk.) I. Darbysh. is a plant belongs to the family Acanthaceae. Considering the less toxicity, notable medicinal property and least public awareness on the usefulness of the plant, the present study focused on the phytochemical, antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant properties of the aerial part of the plant. Phytochemical screening and antioxidant potential of petroleum ether, acetone, 1-propanol and water extracts were carried out using standard procedures.

Biochemical alternations induced by textile industrial effluent on common carp cyprinus carpio

The aim of the present investigation was to study physic-chemical analysis of textile dye effluent and the biochemical parameters in the finger lings of Cyprinus carpio exposed to sub lethal concentrations of 72 and 96 hr of textile dyeing effluent for 30 days period. In the present study, total protein, total free amino acids, glycogen and glucose were observed in, gills, liver, kidney and muscle tissues of Cyprinus carpio.

Development of high root yielding and consumer preferred orange fleshed sweet potato genotypes for urban agriculture in umudike rain fed agro-ecology of southeastern Nigeria

Agriculture in the urban is practiced in a limited land with high population density, this suggested reasons to develop sweetpotato genotypes with high root yield per unit area. On this premise, a study was conducted in Umudike Southeastern Nigeria using 13 selected open pollinated sweetpotato genotypes in a 3m x 3m plot size of 9m2 in a randomized complete block design and replicated 3 times. The planting material was of 4 node vine cutting, planted on ridges spaced at 1.0m and planting at 0.3m within rows of sweetpotato stands.
