Coconut oil action on the hepatic function of rats wistar submitted to the diet hypercaloric

Objective: To evaluate the effect of coconut oil on animals submitted to the hypercaloric diet considering its possible hepatoprotective effect. Method: Seven animals Were included in each of the experimental groups, totaling 28 animals: G1 (hypercaloric diet); G2 (+ hypercaloric coconut oil); G3 (control: commercial ration) and G4 (commercial diet + coconut oil) and sacrificed after 54 days of diet.

Management of obesity in children

Obesity and overweight is the most prevalent nutritional disorder among children and adolescents in the United States and worldwide. Approximately 21-24% of American children and adolescents are overweight, and another 16-18% is obese; More than one billion people worldwide are affected by obesity. The study was a case-control study. • Overweight/obesity were more common among males, no significant correlation was found with sex. • There was highly significant protective effect of breastfeeding against development of obesity.

Perceptions of nursing undergraduate students about humanized childbirth

Humanization in childbirth is a widely discussed subject because it runs through values and practices that evolve relationships among human beings. Humanized care must be centered in parturients needs, not only in procedures and technical standards. Thus, undergraduate nursing students perceptions are extremely relevant for this scenario, once the concept of humanized care should be understood during academic formation of these future professionals, aiming even more humanized care during prenatal and childbirth care, granting women’s rights and autonomy.

Brazil has witnessed an increase in the elderly population in recent years. In this sense, it is necessary to think about improving the quality of life of thesepeople, promoting an active and healthy aging. Therefore, sexuality represents an element that should be explored in view of the different dimensions that encompass aspects that promote health benefits.

Vitamin d in intensive therapy in treatment of adult patients: a methanalysis of clinical testing

Introduction: In Brazil, sepsis is one of the diseases with a high death rate in intensive care. Objectives: to gather information available from the authors to verify the efficacy of vitamin D supplementation in intensive care patients with sepsis. Methods: Analytical and observational through a meta-analysis. Results: 18 randomized studies were included in this meta-analysis, observational and experimental studies in humans from January 2000 to December 2018, totaling 10,011 patients evaluated.

Health profile of university agents from a public education institution

Objective: To know the health profile of workers from a brazilian higher education institution (HEI). Method: Cross-sectional, quantitative, exploratory descriptive study, conducted with 615 servers from the brazilian HEI. The data collection includes the application of a structured questionnaire containing sociodemographic and labor characteristics, self-perceptions in health, previous diagnoses, and lifestyle. Data were analyzed descriptively. Results: Prevalence of women (53%), married (59%), complete high school (38%) and over 40 years (28%).

Quality of life and psychosocial protection factors of elderly residents in the interior of são paulo: an epidemiological study

Demographic and epidemiological changes lead us to reflect on what provides quality of life in old age. Objective: To evaluate the quality of life of elderly residents in a small municipality in the interior of the State of São Paulo. Methods: This was a cross-sectional census study in which 322 elderly people from the community were interviewed. The WHOQoL-BREF and WHOQoL-OLD quality of life questionnaires were applied and socio-demographic data were collected from the study subjects.

Aformação do discente de pós-graduação para a docência em práticas integrativas e complementares

Objetivo: descrever a vivência no campo da aprendizagem e do ensino no que tange as Práticas Integrativas e Complementares em Saúde, sob a perspectiva de uma mestranda.Método: Trata-se de estudo descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência, com abordagem qualitativa. A experiência ocorreu no decorrer do ano de 2018, após o ingresso no mestrado acadêmico, e foi dividida em duas etapas: a primeira em busca de aprendizagem sobre as PICS (teoria e prática) através do Programa de Pós-graduação em Enfermagem e Saúde e a segunda a aplicação do conhecimento no estágio docência.

Evaluation of the structure and multiprofessional care process in diabetes mellitus in primary health care

The objective was to evaluate the structure and process of multiprofessional care of users with type 2 diabetes in the Primary Health Care. This was a cross-sectional study with descriptive approach, with a sample of 127 medical records and 12 Health Units of the Northeast of Brazil. Data were collected through direct observation. The analysis was supported by the ordinance and guidelines of the Ministry of Health, based on the classic reference of health services evaluation proposed by Donabedian.

Breast milk is the most appropriate food for the child in the first months of life, providing protection against various diseases such as diarrhea, respiratory infections and reduces the risks of allergies, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes and obesity. The objective of the present study was to analyze the influence of artificial nozzles on breastfeeding in children in day care centers in the Municipality of Imperatriz-MA. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional, quantitative approach. Data collection was carried out between February and June 2018.
