Cases of sexual violence against children and adolescents registered at a specialized police station in the city of Belém, Pará, Brazil

The objective was to analyze the characteristics of sexual crimes against children and adolescents, registeredat the Police Station Specialized in Child and Adolescent Assistanceof Santa Casa de Misericórdia, from 2016 to 2017, based in the city of Belém-PA. It is a documentary, descriptive, and quantitative study, with secondary data from the Secretariat of Intelligence and Criminal Analysis of the Public Security and Social Defense Officeof the State of Pará. Variables regarding the form of recordwere: type of crime; type of record; type of procedure.

Somatosensory evoked potentials in neurology

The authors present a views and opinions highlighting the role of somatosensory evoked potential and its application in neurology as a non-invasive technique studying the entire length of the afferent pathways, especifically the posterior cord, allowing the detection of subclinical disfunction. This study is very useful in diseases involving the myelin sheath, for monitoring sensory pathways function during surgical procedures has progressively become one of its most important applications.

Avaliação da satisfação no trabalho e dos fatores associados na percepção dos profissionais de enfermagem

Este estudo busca avaliar a satisfação no trabalho e os fatores associados na percepção dos profissionais de enfermagem dos serviços de saúde da rede pública municipal. Estudo cuja coleta de dados foi realizada entre abril e junho de 2016, utilizando um questionário para a obtenção das informações sócio demográficas e o Índice de Satisfação Profissional (ISP). As respostas dos participantes foram codificadas em categorias numéricas, inseridas em banco de dados eletrônico e analisadas pelo programa STATA.

Resveratrol in topic preparation as a preventive to skin photoaging: A systematic review

Background: The increase in research in the cosmetic area on resveratrol, mainly due to its antioxidant action and the existence of few in vivo studies proving its effective action against topical skin photoaging, are the antecedents of this research. Aims: To evaluate, through systematic review, scientific evidence that proves the antioxidant activity of resveratrol in preparation for topical use as a preventive to photoaging.

Testing the hypothesis that the deep approach generates better academic performance

Students’ Approaches to Learning (SAL) theory assumes that the deep approach generates better academic performance when compared to the surface approach. This study tests this hypothesis, using a randomized experimental design of pre- and post-test case-control. Students in a discipline of a biology course were randomly allocated to the experimental and control groups. The experimental group carried out a pedagogical activity which aimed to mobilize the deep approach, while the control group performed a mobilizing activity with a surface approach.

This article is characterized as a critical study of the discourse of increasing competence in the educational field, specifically in the 1990s. The concept reveals a transition from qualified training to competent training, characterized as flexibility and mobilization of knowledge to perform tasks. Extension and Advisory Services and the Impacts on Yields, Foumbot and Fongotongo, West Region of Cameroon

The purpose of this study was to examine the various benefits tomato and Irish potato participants (farmers) get from extension and advisory services (EAS) in the West Region of Cameroon. The sample under survey consisted of 210 farm households of those who benefited from EAS. Data was generated from primary and secondary sources and were analysed through descriptive and inferential statistical technique using Statistical Package for Social Sciences and Micro Soft Excel.
