Cateter venoso central de inserção periférica e a infecção na neonatologia: uma revisão integrativa

The Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) has become a relevant device, so it is pertinent to be empowered with the literary knowledge produced in order to enable the best practice. The aim of this study was identify, in national and international publications, the current knowledge about PICC and Bloodstream Infections in the neonatal population. This is an integrative review. Data collection was performed through electronic Search in the following databases: LILACS, MEDLINE-PubMed, SciELO, Science direct (ELSEVIER) and Cochrane.

Governance mechanisms in triads: the role of an intermediary actor in new product development

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the governance mechanisms adopted by an intermediary company to successfully manage new product development (NPD) in a triadic relationshipformed by two Brazilian companies and a Chinese one. Qualitative research was conducted through a particular case study in the context of the offshore petroleum industry. The analysis was developed during and after data collection, using content analysis (Bardin, 2000) with a priori categorization adapted from Ateş, Van den Ende and Ianniello (2015).

Production of biomolecules of pharmacological interest by trichoderma species

The genus Trichoderma comprises more than 400 species of fungi distributed across all ecosystems worldwide. Fungi of this genus have been widely reported to produce metabolites with various activities, which have been used in diverse areas such as in pest biocontrol, resistance induction in plants, and production of biomolecules of biotechnological interest. This review aims to provide an overview of the main species of Trichoderma that produce biomolecules with activities that are useful in the biotechnological field, emphasizing metabolites with antibacterial and antitumor activity.

Videos available on youtube™ supporting home exercise during the

Objective: To characterize videos with content supporting the practice of physical exercises performed at home during the quarantine period, available on the YouTube™ platform. Method: The search was performed using the terms: “Training Quarantine”, “Training Coronavirus”, and “Training COVID”, identifying videos published between March 20th and June 30th, 2020. Results: A total of 386 videos were analyzed; in March and April, there were a greater number of videos published (34.72% and 40.93%, respectively).

Evaluation of heat transfer coefficients by cfd and response surface techniques

Heat Transfer Coefficients are extremely important for design and control of thermal processes involving the convection mechanism. Experimental evaluation of the film coefficients is not simple because such parameters depend on the system geometry, flow regime and physicochemical properties of the fluid. Thus, an interesting alternative for estimating the convective heat transfer coefficient is to apply CFD techniques to solve the transport equations numerically.

Optimization of a low-cost electrolytic cell for hydrogen production to be used in an internal combustion engine

Hydrogen has important physicochemical and combustion properties that can be used to improve performance and reduce pollutant emissions by motor vehicles. However, storage difficulties can limit its use in internal combustion engines. So, in this research, hydrogen gas was produced and consumed immediately in order to eliminate the need for a storage device. First, a cell for alkaline water electrolysis was built to produce hydrogen and use it as a complementary fuel in an internal combustion engine.

Short and long term follow up of humeral condylar fracture type II treated by lag screw and anti-rotational pin associated to olecranon osteotomy

Humeral condylar fractures are relatively common in dogs and are most often associated with low-energy trauma, mainly affecting young animals. Anatomical reduction and rigid stabilization are mandatory to correct these types of articular fractures and achieve the main goals as early return of limb function, pain-free elbow movement, and prevent or at least reduce degenerative joint disease.

Incidence of self-medication and indiscriminate use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs among young university students

Objectives: Evaluate the prevalence of self-medication and possible adverse reactions caused by the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs by students of the School of Health Sciences of the Amazonas State University, Brazil. Methods: This is a study with a quantitative approach, consisted of questions addressing gender, age, university course, adverse effects and questions about self-medication. Results: Of the 60 academics who answered the questionnaire, the majority are female (33/55%) were aged between 18 and 22 years (31/52%).

Creation of an application that uses the correlation between stature and plantar anthropometric measurements for forensic purposes

This research was developed based on the idea that human stature is a set of linear dimensions and that there are significant associations between it and various body segments. By associating this concept with mobile device technology, criminal experts can do their work quickly and easily, anywhere. The main objective of this study is to report the steps of creating and developing an application that uses the correlation of height with plantar anthropometric measurements for forensic purposes.
