Differences of endometrial biopsy results among postmenopausal and reproductive age groups

The aim of this tudy is to compare the different endometrial histopathologies among cases from postmen opausal to reproductive ages. From January 2011 through November 2013,  114 postmen opausal women and 100 randomly allocated reproductive age group cases were compared, on the basis of endometrial histopathological findings obtained from the archieves of Pathology Department. In our research the most common histopathologic diagnosis  in reproductive age group is secretoryendo metrium (%25) and also this is the most common result in postmen apausal age (%20.17).

Financing basic education: What are the equity and quality implications of free primary education (FPE) and free day secondary education (FDSE) policies in Kenya?

The thrust of this paper is to examine free primary education (FPE) and Free Day Secondary Education (FDSE) education policies with a view to critically assess their implications on equity and quality of the education provided through these initiatives in Kenya. It is concerned with three questions?  What is the current progress in enrollment and equity trends in education in primary and secondary schools in Kenya? What are the funding strategies for the primary and secondary education sectors in the country?

Primary hyperparathyroidism: Single center experience

Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) results from inappropriate overproduction of parathyroid hormone from one or more adenoma, hyperplasia or less commonly carcinoma. The incidance of PHPT in USA is 1/700 and male/female ratio is 1/3 .  PTH is mostly demostrate as adenoma. 80% of the cases present with solitary adenoma. We conducted this study to investigate the 6 patients that were diagnosed and operated for primary hyperparathyroidism between the years 2007-2013.

Flexibility and effectiveness in reverse logistics of product returns in the form of parts and sub-assemblies

Reverse logistics has become a major component of extended producer’s responsibility. The dynamic nature of reverse logistics and the uncertainties within it demands more investigations on its variables. This paper elaborates the findings of a survey using factor analysis in investigations of factors influencing return handling of products in the form of parts and subassemblies. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 17 was used to analyze the effect of independent variables on key dependent variables.

Integration of hospital systems into medical education: A blended learning approach

The E-learning tools facilitate and extend students learning experiences beyond the boundaries of the classroom. These tools and applications include activities to increase the interaction among students themselves and between instructors and students on the other side. Medical education requires more practical sessions, and student involvement in medical procedures at various levels. E-learning design and implementation for medical education should be tailored to satisfy such needs.

Local perception of illness and healing: Rural health practices and development in Bangladeshi village

Like in many developing countries, in Bangladesh, health is regarded as ‘an important index of human development’ (Government of Bangladesh, 2013). To develop a global partnership for development the Government of the country puts enough weight on reducing child mortality, improving maternal health along with combating diseases with a commitment to ensure environmental sustainability (Noorani, 2008; Rahman, 2010). Health reforms, aided by national health policy and pro-poor health projects focus on immunization for children and contraception based family planning.

Measurement of the impacts of watershed management programme on livelihoods of a watershed community

Watershed management has increasingly been realized to be an essential component of rural development in many developing countries including India. However, studies related to the socio-economic implication of Watershed Management Programme (WMP) are often ambiguous. The present study assesses the impacts of WMP on livelihoods of the watershed community in an experimental watershed in the state of Karnataka, India, using Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA). This was accomplished with the help of Livelihood Assets Tracking (LAST) method which is based on SLA.
