Effect of whole cell (wc) and outer membrane protein (omp) vaccines on protection of catla catla against columnaris disease of flavobacterium columnare

Recent studies evaluated that immunoproteomic vaccines provide protection against bacterial infections in fish aquaculture and the vaccines are popular due to its long lasting immunity, safety and low cost versatile characteristics. In this study we used Whole cell – Formalin Killed (WC) and Outer Membrane Protein (OMP) of F. Columnare as a vaccine to provide protection against columnaris disease in fish Catla catla. We used the extract of Asparagus racemosus as an adjuvant in the vaccine preparation.

Need of surgical dressing in postoperative surgical

Surgical procedures are frequent these days, as well as the search for appropriate and safe procedures for patients, requiring more research and optimize nursing care. The correct procedures in the surgical dressing are also important to the success of the intervention.
Purpose: To identify the need for surgical dressing in postoperative.
Methods: A study has been carried out which consists in systematic literature revision and it has taken place where seven items were selected.

Effect of plant growth regulaters on growth and sex expression of bitter gourd

Investigation was conducted to study the effect of different chemicals as a foliar spray on bitter gourd.  The treatments were comprised of plant growth regulators viz., NAA @ 50 mg/l and 75 mg/l, ethereal @ 50 mg/l and 100 mg/l, spermine @ 5 mg/l and 10 mg/l, putrescine @ 20 mg/l and 40 mg/l and Control (water spray) applied at 2 and 4 leaf stage. All the treatments improved the flowering and yield characters over control. However, among different treatments, foliar spray of NAA 75 mg/l followed by, putrescine @ 40 mg/l were found most significant in influencing parameters like no.

Inference of the application of polyacrylamide on essential oil and active constituents of lemongrass

Lemongrassis an important aromatic, anti-microbial crop that checks the viability of tumour cell. Citral is its active constituent that is used in preparation of ionones and artificial perfumes. Keeping this in mind, the importance of crop, a pot experiment was conducted as a factorial randomized design to find out the effect of basal application of polyacrylamide on lemongrass. Polyacrylamide is a long chain, synthetic and a high molecular weight polymer. Treatments include six basal levels of polyacrylamide viz.Pam0,Pam224, Pam448, Pam896, Pam1792and Pam3584.

In the work, a study of mass fragmentation routes by the electron-impact mass spectrometry data has been examined for two open chain intermediates of benzimidazole derivatives and two imidazobenzodiazepines. By the isolation of open chain intermediate and

Objective: To evaluate in vitro, the synergistic effects  of bioactive extracts of Punica granatum (Pomegranate) "pulp", Actinidia deliciosa (Kiwifruit) "peel" and Citrus maxima (Pomelo) "pulp" with different antibiotics against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Methods: The extraction was carried out using the soxhlet in presence of ethanol, methanol or water.  Evaluation of synergistic activity was carried out using disc diffusion method.

Evaluation of parasites of medical importance in drinking water sources in Okura District, Dekina local Government, Kogi State, Nigeria

A study was conducted on drinking water sources in Okura district, Dekina Local Government, Kogi State to examine parasites of medical importance. A total of 300 water samples were collected from two sources (Borehole and River water) in three communities (Anyigba, Egume and Ochaja) between the months of November 2014 and January 2015. In all the two sources, water was contaminated with eggs, trophozoites, cysts, oocysts, larvae and juveniles of parasites. Parasites were isolated using sedimentation method and viewed microscopically.

Liming and selenium application effects on selenium uptake by maize (zea mays) and selenium contents in maize grain

Selenium, a ubiquitously occurring element in the environment, is classified as an essential element for human and animal health because, among others, it has antiviral and anticarcinogenic effects and plays a biological role as a component of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase that catalyzes the decomposition of H2O2 and consequently protects cells from oxidative damage. Dietary Se intake in Malawi is <20 µg person-1 day-1, which is low compared to recommended 50-70 µg person-1 day-1 worldwide. Selenium bioavailability is affected largely by acidity effects.

Synthesis and characteristics of pvac resin with plasticizer for wood products

The Adhesives industry is one  of  the most importance of  PVAc Resin, especially wood product manufacturer .it has many advantages low cost, easy in appilication, minimal harmful in environment effects. However, The PVAc resin also having the disadvantages that it’s bonding  and  viscosity was dependent the work condition get worse at the low temperature.  For that phthalate-based plasticizer is used to complement these disadvantages, Bond strength and heat-resistance is weakened by without adding the plasticizer and in the low temperature. The plasticizer quantity should be increased.

Cocoa trees (theobroma cacao linn.) agroforests replanting in togo: What appropriate agroecosystems?

Cocoa agroforest remained the main cultivated agroforest in West Africa. This study examined the effects of shading regime, soil depth and soil texture on the growth of immature cocoa trees. A field experiment was conducted during one year in forest zone in Togo and data was collected in twelve cocoa orchards established in June - July 2014. Three equal size plots (12 x 10 m²) were randomly located in each orchard, where agronomic variables and soil samples were collected.
