Enhancement of leaf blast resistance in rice cultivar ‘swarna’ by marker assisted backcross breeding

Swarna is most popular indica rice variety cultivated in India. However, Swarna is highly susceptible to blast disease. As genes that confer effective resistance to blast are available along with gene-specific markers, the present study was carried out to introgress a major blast resistance gene, Pi54 into the genetic background of Swarna through marker-assisted backcross breeding. Rice line Tetep possessing Pi54 gene served as the donor. Marker-assisted backcross breeding strategy was used for introgression of the resistance gene into Swarna.

Impact of self help group scheme of microfinance on the economic development of mewat District in Haryana

Supramolecular assembly of ionic liquid with cyclic oligosaccharide in aqueous environments

A suitable host-guest inclusion complex has beenmade with a guest molecule, 1-methyl-3- octylimidazolium chloride ([MOIm]Cl) and a host molecule, α-cyclodextrin in aqueous medium. Formation of the host-guest inclusion complex has been established by Surface tension and conductivity readings while1H NMR and ultraviolet spectroscopy readingconfirms1:1 host-guest stoichiometry. These results have implications for the formation of host-guest inclusion complex of studied ionic liquid as guest in aqueous α–cyclodextrin media.

Evaluation of combining ability and genetic variance in introgressed widikum elaeis guineensis jacq. of cameroon using north carolina ii mating design

Information on combining abilities and gene action parameters remain critical in oil palm selection/breeding for high yield commercial tenera hybrid. In this study, female families (DA2356D, DA787D, DA507D, and LM7899D) and male families (LM9175T, LM9287T, and LM9927T) were crossed and their progenies planted at Specialized Centre for Oil Palm Research of Cameroon. After 10 years, the resulting progeny test was evaluated in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Oil yield and selected oil palm traits were estimated.

Efficacy of flaxseed in the reduction of blood cholesterol in hypercholesterolemia rats

From time immemorial traditional medicines have been utilized by human society for improving the health care. In this study, anti hyperlipidemic effect of flaxseed was studied. The present study was conducted on white albino rats. The rats were fed with high fat diet for the induction of hypercholesterolemia for 30 days. The hypercholesterolemic rats were administered with roasted Flaxseed powder of 250 gm (low dose) and 500 grams (high dose).

On the relationship between elzaki transform and new integral transform "zz transform"

In this paper we discusses some relationship between Elzaki transform and the newintegral transform called ZZ transform, we solve first and second order ordinarydifferential equations with constant and non-constant coefficients, using both transforms, and showing ZZ transform is closely connected with Elzaki transform.
