Garbhini chardi and its management

Ayurveda is a science of life which emphasizes both the preventive and curative aspect of the diseases. The present world is concerned about the increasing rate of morbidity which alters their life expectancy. Acharya Charaka has compared pregnant lady with Taila poorna patra which can spill off even by small disturbances hence seeking proper attention. Garbhini Chardi is one of the Garbhini Vyapats explained by our Acharyas which is a pregnancy induced ill-health and also causes congenital problems in newborn due to deficit nutrition.

Analysis of the otoliths sagitta, asteriscus and lapillus of bigeye scad selar crumenophthalmus (teleostei: carangidae) in manzanillo bay, mexican central pacific

Morphology, morphometry and growth rings of the otoliths: sagitta, asteriscus and lapillus of Selar crumenophthalmus in Manzanillo and Santiago bays in Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico were studied. Differences between sexes, as right and left of the three pairs of otoliths were analyzed. In all cases the growth of the otoliths is eccentric to the core. Relationship between fish length and length and/or width of the otoliths showed that these structures are useful in the growth determination. Four growth rings were identified in sagittae and asterisci.

Rainwater harvesting to combat rock desertification in karst areas

Rock desertification has become the most serious ecological disaster in southwest China. Area of rock desertification is expanding at an alarming rate and is restricting social and economic development in southwest China. The objective of this study is, therefore, to assess the impact of rock desertification in southwest China and to suggest means to alleviate intensification of rock desertification problem with rainwater harvesting using natural ground catchment and open water reservoir.

Helping or playing god? an assessment of the impact of foreign aid on economic growth and food security in malawi

Food insecurity and poor economic growth continue to be the major challenge for Malawi despite increasingly growing foreign aid. Between 2007 and 2015, Malawi received over US$1.3 billion, but real GDP growth went down. Today, over 2.8 million Malawians are affected by hunger due to poor maize harvest. While one would expect foreign aid to boost Malawi’s economy and stabilize food security, the situation for Malawi is different. Most attribute food insecurity and poor economic growth to poor agricultural production due to unpredictable climatic conditions.

Information security risk management in a public institution: a case study

Information is a key asset to organizations, so they must apply security measures, policies, procedures, guidelines and also take advantage of good opportunities to leverage business success. This case study aims to verify how information security risk management is presented, according to I.T. manager’s perceptions, in a Brazilian federal public institution. The results demonstrate the relevance of policies, standards, procedures and their implementation as well as roles played by people and their responsibilities aiming greater control of information security risks.

Product development through cfd simulation and experimental testing of a 200 liter biomass fired institutional cook stove

In this work, complete analysis of 200 liter institutional cook stove, design, simulation and field test was carried out. In developing country, including Ethiopia, biomass is the major energy source especially, for cooking and heating purpose from single family to institutional level. In this back drop, this project will focus on 200 liter size of biomass fired institutional cook stove that incorporates secondary air for complete combustion. Materials were selected for each component of the stove according to their temperature resistance required.

Concern for nutritional entitlements in India

Malnutrition has been one of the enduring enigmas of contemporary India. Despite years of rapid economic growth, child malnutrition rates remained unchanged for years. After years of stasis, there seems to be some sign of progress in India’s battle against malnutrition, although malnutrition rates remain high. While poverty is not the only cause of malnutrition, it is an important cause, not just because poor people may lack adequate food but also because the poor often have less time and resources to care for their children.

Impact of yoga intervention on spiritual well being, sleep quality and guna in young widows: a randomized control trial

Objective of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of yoga on spiritual well being, sleep quality and Guna of young widows below 50 years of age. Eighty subjects were randomly allocated to two groups. Spiritual well being (SWB), Sleep quality (PSQI) and Guna (VPI) were assessed before and after eight weeks of intervention. The data analysis showed that quality of sleep was improved in both yoga group (P < .001) and control group (P=0.026). Religious well being scores were not significantly increased in both.

Dynamic macro-economic variables and its impact on gold price innovation in India

According to the World Gold Council, in the last decade, 75% of gold demand in India has taken the form of jewellery. The demand of gold moving towards uphill when the purchasing power of the consumer increases, which forces gold price up. The price of the god increases not only because of its demand. There are various factors that influence the fluctuations in gold price. The present study considers certain macro-economic variables and identifies the relationship of those variables with the gold price and its impact.

Psycho-educational approaches in person with autism spectrum disorder

The umbrella term ‘autism spectrum disorders’ (ASDs) covers the condition such as autism, childhood disintegrative disorder and Asperger syndrome. Developmental disorders, including ASDs, are disorders of early brain development, and although the cause of ASDs remains unknown, some specific prenatal, perinatal and environmental risk factors, such as high maternal and paternal age and specific gene mutations, have been identified. It is unclear what role these risk factors may play in the reported increase in prevalence.
