Study of the interactions of the nanocomposite formed by poly (vinyl alcohol), clay and zinc oxide nanoparticles

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVAl) is a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer; and due to these characteristics, it is being widely applied in health systems. Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles have several properties, including antimicrobial activity. Bentonite is a sodium-type clay that has water-absorbing properties, allowing the opening of its coverslips and the entry of other molecules between them. This article studied the interactions of nanocomposites formed by PVAl, bentonite and ZnO nanoparticles, generating nanostructured systems.

Resource-use efficiency of composite fish culture in sivasagar District of Assam

The present study attempts to assess the resource-use efficiency in Composite Fish Culture in Sivasagar District of Assam. The study was based on primary data collectedthrough personal interview method of sampling by interviewing 150 samples borrowers and 150 non-borrowers from three size groups (based on pond size)being selected through cumulative root frequency rule.

Resveratrol in topic preparation as a preventive to skin photoaging: A systematic review

Background: The increase in research in the cosmetic area on resveratrol, mainly due to its antioxidant action and the existence of few in vivo studies proving its effective action against topical skin photoaging, are the antecedents of this research. Aims: To evaluate, through systematic review, scientific evidence that proves the antioxidant activity of resveratrol in preparation for topical use as a preventive to photoaging.

The Landscape of Nanotechnology Strategies against Covid-19: Products and Diagnostics, Vaccines and Treatments

The pandemic state, declared by the World Health Organization, on March 11, 2020, has tested society's adaptability and response. A race against time to seek strategies to fight the disease of the new coronavirus contributes to the union of scientists from all over the world, including using nanotechnology Thus, the objective of the study was described the landscape of nanotechnology strategies against COVID-19,highlighting mainly the products and diagnostics, vaccines and treatments that are or can be used.

Extension and Advisory Services and the Impacts on Yields, Foumbot and Fongotongo, West Region of Cameroon

The purpose of this study was to examine the various benefits tomato and Irish potato participants (farmers) get from extension and advisory services (EAS) in the West Region of Cameroon. The sample under survey consisted of 210 farm households of those who benefited from EAS. Data was generated from primary and secondary sources and were analysed through descriptive and inferential statistical technique using Statistical Package for Social Sciences and Micro Soft Excel.

Levels of urea fertilizer on germination and vigor of urochloa brizantha cv piatã seeds

The use of high-quality seeds is a premise for the implantation of pasture under sustainable farming systems to livestock production. The usual practice is to mix Urochloa seeds with nitrogenous to use these inputs. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of contact time (0, 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours) and amounts (50, 100, and 150 kg N-1) of urea on Urochloa brizantha seeds physiological quality. A completely randomized experimental design was used, with three replicates. Seedling emergence, germination of normal and abnormal seedlings, and dead seeds were evaluated.

The effects of ibandronate sodium in the consolidation of rat femoral fractures subjected to intramedullary nailing

Background: Ibandronate sodium is used for the clinical treatment of osteoporosis and in having anti-catabolic action it improves bone structure, bone mineralization, bone fracture healing, mechanical fixation and osseointegration of implants in animal models. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of ibandronate sodium in the consolidation of rat femoral fractures subjected to intramedullary osteosynthesis. Methods: Forty-eight male, adult Wistar rats were used in the study, randomly distributed in two groups (ibandronate and control).

Mycorrhizal status of cultivated and wild pearl millet (pennisetumglaucum (l.) R. Br) in three agro-ecological zones of Senegal

Pearl millet (Pennisetumglaucum (L.) R. Br) is a cereal grown in the driest tropical and subtropical regions of Africa and Asia. Thanks to its strong capacity to adapt to the dry tropical climate and low fertility soils, millet plays an important role in the food security of local populations in these regions. It is able to establish a mycorrhizal symbiosis with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), which play a key role in the absorption of nutrients and the mitigation of abiotic and biotic stress in their host.
