Analysis of energy trade between the European union and Russia

The international sanctions are imposed against Russia following Russia's annexation of Crimea and the Russian military intervention in Ukraine. This paper aims are at analyzing the impact of sanctions on Russian economy and on energy security of European Union (EU) countries. The focus is energy trade between the EU and Russia. Energy security is always one of the most important problems for the EU.

Isolation and identification of Bioflocculant producing bacteria from soil samples of Tay Nguyen, Vietnam

This paper described isolation and identification of the bioflocculant producing bacteria from soil samples of Tay Nguyen region, Vietnam. A total of 117 bacteria were isolated, among of which 26 isolates showed flocculating activity more than 50%. In addition, the influence of carbon and nitrogen sources, as well as cultural conditions such as temperature, pH and incubation time on flocculating activity of the 3 selected flocculant producing isolates were investigated.

Economic indicators of navel orange and KEITT mango: Comparison of net greenhouses VS. Open field

Through the use of the structures of greenhouses which used to grow vegetables, in addition to the design of simple models of the structures with local materials to cultivate some fruit crops are very important in terms of economic consideration, which can be exported in large quantities to foreign markets such as navel orange and some pygmy mango varieties. The study was carried out at the Bossaily Protected Agriculture unit in Egypt to measure the performance, efficiency of production and the revenue during the cultivation period 2007- 2013.

Heterosis for seed cotton yield, yield contributing characters and fibre quality parameters intetraploid cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) and (Gossypium barbadense L.)

A line × tester crossing programme was taken up with seven lines and three testers with a view to identify the best heterotic crosses for seed cotton yield, yield attributing traits and fibre quality in cotton. A set of 21 (H × B) hybrids and one check hybrid DCH 32 were grown at Rasi seeds Research and Development Farm Attur. Analysis of variance showed significant differences amongst parents and hybrids for all the characters indicating presence of genetic variability.

Histopathological and oxidative features in alloxan-induced diabetic rats’ kidneys and the preventive effects of the 3,4-dihydroxy-phenylethanol

There is a big relationship between Diabete and renal dysfunctions and lesions. This study was designed to test the antidiabetic and antioxidative activities of 3,4-dihydroxy-phenylethanol in kidneys. Diabetes in Wistar rats was induced by intra- peritoneal injections of alloxan. The kidneys antioxidant parameters; thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS), catalase (CAT) and Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) were examined as well as the histological features.

Millennium development goals (MDGs): A road map to sustainable development in Nigeria

Nigeria which is the sixth largest producer/exporter of crude oil was rated as one of the richest 50 countries in the 1970s. But at the threshold of the 21st century, it has become one of the 25 poorest countries of the world. The country is characterized by high rate of poverty, poor infrastructural development, poor standard of education, and high rate of social vices.

Cloning and expression of two genes (NHAS2 AND NHAS4) isolated from SYNECHOCYSTIS SP. PCC 6803 in yeast

Two genes encoding Na+/H+ antiporter isolated from Cyanobacterial strain Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 were cloned and sequenced. These genes, namely, nhaS2 and nhaS4 were cloned into the pYES2 vector for expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Transgenic yeast was examined for their ability to survive under salt- stress conditions and their growth response to increasing levels of NaCl (0, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3M) for 7days, then the yeast growth was measured at OD600nm in spectrophotometer.

Retrieval of plantlets from cryopresesrved alginate buds of Nyctanthes arbor-tristis L.- an effectual approach for germplasm conservation

The escalating exploitation of medicinal plants for the extraction of imperative pharmaceuticals amalgam dictated the need of using encapsulated vegetative propagules for germplasm conservation and propagation. The present report is the first attempt in the production of synseed and subsequently affirming retrieval of healthy plantlets of Nyctanthes arbor-trisits L. In the current exploration, best encapsulated nodal segments were developed in calcium alginate gel composed of 3% (w/v) sodium alginate and 100 mM CaCl2.2H2O.
