Impact of selected feed additives on reeling traits of mulberry silkworm hybrid pm × csr2 at farmers field condition

Field study was undertaken to know the impact of standardized feed additives on reeling traits of silkworm hybrid, Bombyx mori L. PM × CSR2. Silkworm hybrid were reared on mulberry leaves fortified with feed additives flour combination of horse gram + grain amaranthus (50:50) dusting on leaves lead to significantly longer filament length, higher cocoon filament weight, superior denier, lower sericin content, higher fibroin content and renditta, in chosen farms of three farmers each in selected five villages of Kolar district.

Impact of standardized feed additives on reeling traits of mulberry silkworm hybrids csr2 × csr4 and nd7 × csr2 (jayalakshmi)

Among nine different flours of feed additives tested the silkworm hybrids CSR2 × CSR4 and ND7 × CSR2 (Jayalakshmi) in combination of Horse gram + Grain Amaranthus flour (50 : 50) recorded significantly maximum reeling traits, viz., higher per cent raw silk recovery (21.45, 21.41; 15.55, 15.48), per cent neatness (95.58,95.51; 91.25, 91.17), per cent cleanliness (97.45,97.36; 96.13, 96.05), lower sericin per cent (20.23, 20.38 p; 22.23, 22.29) and higher fibroin per cent (79.75, 79.61; 77.76, 77.69) respectively, when provided from fourth instar up to spinning in both hybrids.

Significance of standardized feed additives on cocoon traits of mulberry silkworm hybrids csr2 × csr4 and nd7 × csr2 (jayalakshmi)

The silkworm hybrids CSR2 × CSR4 and ND7 × CSR2 (Jayalakshmi) reared on mulberry shoots supplemented separately with dusting of nine different feed additives along with unsupplemented control maintained, showed that inclusion of 5g / 10 g flour of Horse gram + Grain Amaranthus (50 : 50) daily once in feeding schedule recorded significantly maximum cocoon weight, shell weight, pupal weight, rate of pupation and dry cocoon weight.

The outcomes after the use of bier’s block for the manipulation of distal radius fractures in the emergency department

Purpose: Our aim was to identify what proportion of patients can achieve a satisfactory reduction with Bier’s block that can be treated non-operatively. Methods: All patients who received a Bier’s block in Emergency department in 2015 were identified using electronic patient databases. Results: 92% or 60 out of 65 patients had radiological improvement in their fracture position post-manipulation, 2 out of 5 patients had radiological improvement in fracture position continued to be managed non-operatively. 12 out of 65 patients receiving Bier’s block manipulation went on to need surgery.

Concept of manashila drug- a review

Manashila, Haratala, and Somala are important arsenic compounds which are used in Ayurveda. Manashila is most popular among them. Manashila is commonly used in treating the diseases like Shwasa-Kasa, Agnimandya, Kshaya, Anaha, Jwara, Krimi, Visharoga, Raktavikara etc.Manashila is called as red arsenic with two molecules of Arsenic and two molecules of Sulphur (AS2S2). Manashila consumed without proper Shodhana causes Mandagni, Malabaddata, Ashmari and Mutra Krichra. Hence Shodhana of Manashila is essential.

Access to improved seeds and its effect on food security of poor farmers

This paper presents a post intervention assessment of improved seed access beneficiaries in southern Ethiopia. The primary objective of the assessment was to investigate whether seed access really counts on food security or not. Through a multistage stratified sampling, 330 households were selected and qualitative and quantitative data were collected. The findings of the study revealed that significant achievements have been observed as a result of seed access ranging from harvesting higher yield, to improving dietary diversity; intake and meal frequency.

The effectiveness of ‘pain digital acupressure (pda)’ in reducing labor pain and the duration of the second stage of labor

The maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is still the highest among Asian countries. One of the reasons is due to prolonged labor that is influenced by the anxiety and fear of the mother during labor. Anxiety and pain are very connected and influence each other. The pain will release the hormone that will disturb uterine contraction and increase the respiratory stimulation and decrease levels of CO2 in mother and fetus. This will influence the wellness of both mother and fetus.

The effectiveness of flavonoid and terpenoid isolate sarang semut (myrmecodia pendens merr and perry) against phorphyromonas gingivalis atcc 33277

Ethyl acetate fraction of sarang semut plants (Myrmecodia pendens Merr and Perry) were reportedto contain flavonoids and terpenoids which have antibacterial activity against dental cariesbacteria. The aim of this study is to isolate flavonoids and terpenoids from M. pendens tubers and to test their effectiveness against Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCC 33277bacteria which are the main cause of periodentitis. Flavonoid and terpenoid were isolated using chromatographic methods. Characterization of flavonoids and terpenoids is done using UV, IR, NMR, and MS spectroscopy.

Comparative study of statinsanddifferent formulation of statins- a review

Statins are very commonly used antihyperlipidaemic in all over theworld. Statins are the main API occurred in all antihyperlipidaemic drugs. This classes of compounds are the most efficacious and the best tolerated hypolipidaemic drugs. Statins reduced the raised LDL-CH associated mortality and morbidity is now established. Up to certain therapeutic dose is useful but anoverdose of Statins start side effects like a headache, Nausea, vomiting and bowel upset, rashes on the body.
