Lessons of health financing reform: a book review

In 2016, Saudi Arabia announced its 2030 National Transformation Vision. This plan is attempting to change major aspects related to the economy, which, in effect, would require changes in, among other systems, the Saudi health financing system. As much as there seems to be much optimism and hope expressed after the announcement of the vision, careful steps in the reform of the health system, and in particular the health financing system, must be taken.

Stress maternal in the neonatal intensive care unit: effect of the educational booklet

Background: Maternal stress is experienced by mothers with children in the neonatal unit.The objective of this study was to evaluate the occurrence of maternal role-related stress in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before and after the application of an educational booklet. Methods:A quasi-experimental study was carried out. The stress level was assessed using the "relationship and parental role" subscale in a single group.

Extremos climáticos de precipitação no delta do piauí

Extremos de precipitação de 1980 a 2013 foram identificados nas localidades de Teresina e Parnaíba (PI). A obtenção do Índice de Anomalia da Chuva (IAC) evidenciou que 1985 foi o ano mais chuvoso para Teresina (2260.2 mm) e Parnaíba (2877.1 mm). E que 1993 foi o ano menos chuvoso em ambas as localidades (608.7 mm e 457.2 mm, respectivamente). Os maiores totais mensais ocorreram em março/1986 e abril/1995 em Teresina (569.8 mm) e, o menor (0.0 mm) ocorreu em março e maio de 1993.

Analysis of GST on corporate Governance in India

Taxation system is as old as the human civilisation. This has evolved over the ages and Chanakya’s Arthashastra is the famous treatise on the subject of the ancient times. However, with the regular evolution of the economic activities combined with adoption of different forms of administration the taxation systems were bound to change. The further evolution came with the scientific discoveries, expansion of economic activities, growth of population, improvisation of production systems among others. The present paper aspires to look into the acceptance and success of the GST system.

Bilateral central retinal vein occlusion in a 40-year-old man with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19) pneumonia

The authors are commenting on the study entitled: “Bilateral central retinal vein occlusion in a 40-year-old man with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 19) pneumonia” published by Waqar et al. in Am J Case Rep 2020;21:e927691-1-e927691-5, which reported the first case of bilateral central retinal vein occlusion in a 40-year old man with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia. The authors concluded that the COVID-19 pneumonia combined with hypertension and morbid obesity led him to an inflammatory state that resulted in bilateral central retinal vein occlusion.

Professional education in the field: curricular tensions and conflicts for the integral training of workers

The adsorption of ofloxacin (OFL) by the spent coffee grounds (SCGs) was investigated. The effect of solution pH and the amount of SCGs were also studied. The optimum solution pH and amount of SCGs were 6 and 100 mg, respectively. The adsorption isotherms were well described by the Henry model. This suggested that the strong interaction of OFL with the SCGs. Therefore, SCGs, as a green, environmental-friendly adsorbent, can be applied to the adsorption of contaminants in environment.

Analyzing negative experiences reported by medical students

This study aims to analyze negative experiences (aggression, abuse, and mistreatment) reported by medical students during their course. It is a cross-sectional research with 218 participants. A questionnaire on aggression, abuse, and mistreatment wasused. The students also answered a questionnaire covering sociodemographic and economic data. Their average age was 23.3 years old (+3.5), and they were mostly white males. Among all students, the weighted prevalence by course year of at least one frequent occurrence (five times or more) of aggression, abuse or mistreatment was 40.8%.

Business model in the perspective of the integrated report: an analysis of scientific publications

This article aims to make a survey of the referring academic production to the articles that deal with the subject Business Model in the perspective of the Integrated Reporting, and to present a theoretical scene on the subject by means of a critical analysis of the identified contents. One is about an exploratory, bibliometric research, carried out by means of systematic revision of the literature published in the scientific databases national and internationally recognized. As a result, it was observed that the most prolific authors are the Italians and the South Africans.
