Life cycle exergy analysis on wind farm in Ethiopia

Aim of the study is Life Cycle Exergy Analysis (LCExA) is as indicator of sustainability measure for wind farm found in Ethiopia. The method employed contains three phases: Identification of goal and scope of the study, life cycle inventory of the system and calculation of Exergy of in and out of the materials and energy flow into the system.  ExROI of the wind farm varies between 18 and 22 depending on the different scenarios taken in the system. The material Exergy of the wind farm contributes 22% from total Exergy of the system which has no share in ordinary life cycle analysis.

Design and material analysis of belt shifter assembly for enhancing the belt life with legato movement of over head travelling cleaner

The OHTC (Over Head Travelling Cleaner) is a textile cleaning unit which is used in all textile frames such as spinning, speed frame, weaving, roving, winding etc. The main function of the OHTC unit is used to clean the cotton waste, bluffs and prevents them entering into the frames of the machines to produce fine threads for different application purpose. The Belt Shifter assembly is considered as the heart of OHTC unit, which is used to shift the belt frequently for to and fro motion of the unit. Polyurethane is the material used in Belt shifter unit.

FFT analysis of ball bearing faults using AE

Early detection of bearing faults in rotating machines plays an important role in industrial plants since it avoids the occurrences of serious failure in many parts of the machinery that causes plant failure. It allows the detection of abnormalities and problems at incipient stages which helps in the early of intervention of maintenance and production personnel to keep the plant running and to avoid serious accidents. Therefore, the ability to predict the bearing failure at incipient stage is of great importance.

Cultural, biochemical and haemolytic properties of staphylococcus aureus isolated from cases of subclinical mastitis in cattle

In the present study 38 Staphylococcus aureus isolates from subclinical mastitis cases in Holstein-Friesian (H-F) crossbred and Rathi (a native breed) cattle were characterized on the basis of their cultural, biochemical and haemolytic properties after confirmation by 23S r RNA based genotyping. The overall incidence of subclinical mastitis was 44.70 % with higher incidence (51.61 %) in H-F crossbred cattle than in Rathi cattle (40.74 %). Among the cultural and biochemical properties, 35 out of 38 isolates produced golden yellow colonies and three isolates produced white colonies.

Introgression of major bacterial blight and blast resistant genes into vallabh basmati 22, an elite basmati variety

Bacterial blight and blast are two major destructive diseases in rice, particularly in basmati growing areas. For sustainable basmati rice production, there is a need to identify new resistant sources and improve the elite Basmati varieties against the two diseases. Vallabh Basmati is an elite variety, long slender grain, medium duration and possessing excellent aroma and with consumer preferable cocking and eating qualities.  However, the variety is highly susceptible to BB and blast diseases, which limit its production to a significant extent.

Pathway construction of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIPD): a neurodegenerative disease

Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a form of peripheral neuropathy, often difficult to diagnose. It’s an auto immune disorder, due to subtle occurrence, this disease is not much studied and mostly people are unaware of symptoms and cause. In this paper protein interaction map has been constructed that shows the relationship of CIDP disease with other neurological diseases and also nature of protein interaction. The proteins responsible for the disease (CIDP) were identified using extensive literature survey, Uni Prot and KEGG databases.

Genetic improvement of some attributes agronomic in roselle (Malvaceae) with gamma radiation of 60co

In order to determine the effect of eleven levels of 60Co gamma radiation on some agronomic attributes of Jamaica, seeds were irradiated in Transelektro LGI-01 model at the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares. The plants were planted in black polyethylene bags of 5 kg capacity, using as substrate tezontle red and using the Steiner nutrient solution.

A review on pulmonary-renal syndromes

Pulmonary-renal syndromes are a group of disorders characterized by necrotizing glomerulo nephritis and pulmonary hemorrhage. The coexistence of circulating anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) and anti-glomerular basement membrane (GBM) disease in children affected by this syndrome is exponential; with unfavorable out come in five out of seven patients reported to date. We describe a child with PRS associated both circulating anti-myeloperoxidase (anti-MPO) ANCA and anti-GBM disease on renal biopsy who was successfully treated with immunosuppressive therapy.

EVALUATION OF TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT DISORDERS IN PARTIALLY EDENTULOUS PATIENTS

Background: Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are a collective term given to a number of clinical problems that involve the masticatory musculature, the temporomandibular joints and associated structures, or both.Aim: to assess various TMJ dysfunction signs among the partially edentulous patients.
Methodology: Temporomandibular disorders investigation was performed on 300 partially edentulous individuals, (162 females and 138 males) aged between 25-60 years, the study conducted by clinical examination of temporomandibular joint and associated structure.
