The impact of constructivism learning in mathematics teaching on academic achievement and mathematical thinking among students in a college algebra course for first year students in vocationa

The principles of constructivism, increasingly influential in the organization of classrooms and curricula in schools. The principles appeal to our modern views of learning and knowledge, but conflict with traditional academic practices. We need to reflect on our practice in order to apply these ideas to our work. The current study as an attempt to know the effect of using constructivism learning model as a teaching models based on the constructivism theory on academic achievement and mathematical reasoning outcomes.

Influences of different varieties planted under various seed rates on physiological traits of wheat

The influences of different wheat varieties (Sarsabz, Kiran-95, TD-1) and seed rates (100, 125 and 150 kg ha-1) on physiological traits were investigated at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam Pakistan. It was observed that the leaf area, net assimilation rate and crop growth rate were significantly higher in Kiran-95 than that of Sarsabz and TD-1. While chlorophyll a, b and chlorophyll total appeared better in TD-1 than that of Kiran-95 and Sarsabz.

Impact of indigenous microorganism manure on soil mineralization and irish potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) productivity in Bambili, Cameroon

Irish potato (Solanum tuberosum L) is one of the world’s most consumed staple. It is eaten by more than a billion people worldwide. The amount of potato that is presently being produced in Cameroon is less than a third of the estimated production. An experiment was carried out in Bambili, North West Region Cameroon from March to June 2013 and 2014 in other to evaluate the effect of two organic fertilizers; Indigenous microorganism (IMO) and Effective microorganism (EM) manures on soil fertility improvement and productivity of Irish potato.

Subjective wellbeing and school failure in children and adolescents: influence of psychosocial factors

Our main objective is to study the relation and impact of student retention in subjective wellbeing in children and adolescents and the role of social and personal factors in this relation. Data was collected in 16 schools, 1181 young people responded to the questionnaires, 51.5% were female, ages ranged between 8 and 17 years and mean age 9,9 (SD = 1.35). 12,2% had been retained a grade. Three adequate regression models were built. Model 1 establishes association between being retained a grade and subjective wellbeing.

Composition and structure of epiphytic algae on two aquatic macrophyta speciese distribution on the Euphrates (Al-Abassia) River, Iraq

The present work included study of epiphytic algae on two species of aquatic plants (Potomogeton crispus and Eusine indica) of the Al – Abasia / Euphrates river in middle region of Iraq from March 2012 to February 2013. The investigation region encompassed four Location along 28 Km of the river course the study was recorded 152 species of epiphytic algae on both host plants species and comprised of Bacillariophyta (70%), chlorophyta (22%) and cyanophyta (8%) Total number of epiphytic algae was ranged between 117.03 x103was individual / g as low value on shoot of E.

Influence of different row spacing on agronomic traits in different wheat varieties

A series of experiment was conducted at Malir Experimental Farms, Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam during 2009-10 to study the response of different wheat varieties under various row spacing. The experiment was laid out in RCB design with split plot arrangements having four replications. Three varieties of wheat (Sarsabz, Kiran - 95 and TD-1) and three rows spacing (15.00, 22.50 and 30 cm) were used studied.

Evaluation of mulberry germplasms (hundred genotypes) for the incidence of two defoliator

The present study was undertaken in five years old mulberry germplasm maintained at Sericulture Department, University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, The study was conducted in all three seasons of the year viz., pre monsoon (March-June), monsoon (July-October) and post – monsoon (November – February). Two defoliators namely Bihar hairy caterpillar, Spilarctia obliqua Walker and Wingless grasshopper, Neorthacris acuticeps nilgriensis Uvarov were selected for the study.

Growth and instability in area, yield and production of tomato in Ethiopia

The study measured the growth and instability in area, production, and yield of the vegetable crop tomato in Ethiopia based on secondary data during 1991/92-2013/14 using different statistical techniques. Compound growth rates of area, production and yield were estimated by fitting semi-log trend equation. The study analyzed that, a negative annual percentage change was experienced in yield and a positive annual percentage change was observed in area and production over the study period.

Evaluating production efficiency and quality of leafy radish cultivated according to the Vietnamese good agricultural practice (VIETGAP) guideline in northern Vietnam

Eco-friendly production practices have recently embraced in various regions in Vietnam, particularly for horticultural produce, to meet the increasing demands by both domestic and overseas markets. The practices would not only bring about secure income for producers but also contribute to economic, environmental sustainability and improved human health in broad terms. Leafy radish is one of the important cash crops in the urban and outskirts of Thai Nguyen city (Northern Vietnam).

Integrative approaches for the management of jujube beetle, Adoretus pallens

Jujube, Ziziphus mauritiana is one of the most ancient fruit crops of Sindh, Pakistan consumed for its nutritional and medicinal purpose. However, the occurrence of foliage insect pests especially jujube beetle (Adoretus pallens Har) is the major threat to reduce the quality and quantity of fruits, ultimately causing tremendous economic loss to the growers. Thus, the main focus of current study was to develop the Integrative Pest Management (IPM) approaches for jujube beetle.
