Environmental impacts originating from a pilot project in renewable energy at the federal university of Campina Grande

Due to the growth of overall energy consumption, alternatives for sustainable development are being heavily invested, as is the case of solar photovoltaic power plants. However, it is important to conduct the study of environmental impacts that are generated with such technology, seeking to prevent environmental damage expressive and ensuring more viable alternatives to the projects. With this, aims to raise the main environmental impacts on the physical, biotic and socio-from a deployment of a mini solar photovoltaic power plant in the Federal University of Campina Grande.

Efficiency and selectivity of gillnet mesh sizes for assessing fish composition of egbe water reservoir, Ekiti State, Nigeria

Comparism of five (5) different gillnet mesh sizes ranging from 50.8mm, 63.5mm, 78.2mm, 88.9mm, and 101.6mm was done at four (4) different sampling stations along the banks of the reservoir to evaluate the efficiency and selectivity of gillnet mesh sizes for assessing fish composition in Egbe water reservoir, between April, 2014 and January, 2016. The nets were set at 6.00pm and hauling done in the morning at 8.00am, fishermen were well monitored to avoid sampling bias and ensure a constant fishing effort.

Improving heat flow rate and condensate efficiency after dryingby a mass and energy re-usage technique

The drying process is of great importance to the food industry. One of the best techniquesfor food drying is re-using mass and energy of air outlets from dryers. Mass and energy re-usage of waste can reduce carbon emissions and the use of fossil fuelsin industrial food processes. For this purpose, a mass and energy re-usage technique has been developed in a system of heat flow rate and condensate recovery from air outlets after drying.

Potential neuroprotective effectsof epigallocatechin gallateon behavioral impairmentsin normal and alzheimer's rats chemically induced by aluminum oxide nanoparticles

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), it is most abundant polyphenolin green tea. In addition, it is the most potent neuroprotective compound in green tea. The aim of this study was to evaluate the possible neuroprotective effects of EGCG on behavioral impairments in normal and Alzheimer'srats induced by Aluminum oxide nanoparticles. Forty-eight groups of rats were divided into 8 groups, 6 rats each; Group (1) normal control, received 1ml saline 0.9% orally daily throughout the experiment.

Characterization of cell wall polysaccharides and cellulosic ethanol potential in genotypes of sorghum biomass

In this study, the physicochemical characterization of the cell wall polysaccharides of different genotypes of sorghum bicolor, (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) were obtained using the raw biomass and after the chemical pretreatments, with the objective of this culture being a potential source for the production of cellulosic ethanol. Among the evaluated materials two hybrids brown midrib (bmr) sorghum biomass were tested compared to three conventional sorghum biomass hybrids.

Comparative analysis of leaf chlorophyll and moisture content on primary and secondary food plant of tasar silkworm antheraea mylitta drury

Cocoon crop performance through seasonal rearing of Antheraea mylitta Drury depend on the food plant variety and its nutritional status which helps the time bound agricultural works for economic advantage however the leaf production, chlorophyll and moisture content, quantity and season of the plant needs consideration in comparison with primary and secondary host plants for the commercial feasibility.

IL-10 plays a key role in the regulation of TNF-alfa mRNA expression during dna fragmentation in the nephrotoxicity generated by amphotericin b and cyclosporine

Inflammation is considered the most important cause of tissue injury in organs subjected to nephrotoxicity induced by drugs. The mechanism that triggers inflammation and organ injury remains to be elucidated, although different causes have been postulated.

A green synthesis and characterization of Zn-Al-CO3 and Ni-Al-CO3hydrotalcite catalysts by using grinding methods

The study of different types of synthesis of hydrotalcites were studied. In the current research, hydrotalciteslike Zn-Al-CO3 and Ni-Al-CO3 were synthesized using the grinding method. The reaction conditions were optimized and the best results and yields were obtained at room temperature keeping the pH constant in 30 minutes. The effect of different molar ratios of hydrotalcites were also investigated and were further characterized using XRD, FTIR, and TGA.

Plant diversity and conservation status of the kanneliya forest reserve, sri lanka

Kanneliya Forest Reserve is a low land tropical rain forest located in the Galle District, Sri Lanka. The plant diversity of Kanneliya is considered richer, even compared to the Sinharaja World Heritage Rainforest. The Ceylon Plywood Corporation had been involved in the logging of the complex from 1968 until the logging was suspended in 1988. A research was conducted to measure the diversity of plants at the Kanneliya Forest Reserve as well as to determine the recovery of the forest after logging was suspended.
