Quantitative microbial risk assessment (qmra) for domestic non-potable reuse of greywater: a case study for a Brazilian household

Reuse of greywater has been studied as an alternative for non-potable uses. The goal of this paper was to quantitatively assess the microbial risk from the reuse of greywater treated in a household case study. A Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment was applied to evaluate the treated greywater. This approach was conducted by taking as reference the pathogens Rotavirus, Campylobacter and Cryptosporidium, the worst cases of water-borne diseases of the families of viruses, bacteria and protozoa, respectively, according to World Health Organization.

Influence of nacl in ionic surfactants adsorption in sandstone surface

Low interfacial tensions are one of the most important mechanisms relating to surfactant. Surfactant loss due to adsorption on the rock surfaces weakens the effectiveness of the chemical injected slurry, in reducing oil-water interfacial tension (IFT) and renders the process uneconomical. Surfactant flooding is enhanced oil recovery method (EOR) adopted in partially depleted oil reservoirs. However, surfactant adsorption can occur reducing the efficiency of EOR methods used. This work studied the influence of NaCl on anionic surfactant adsorption on sandstone.

Job satisfaction among faculty-a case study of some colleges in Patna

Job satisfaction is a positive feeling of fulfillment that a faculty derives from their job. Particle deposition modeling and atmospheric aerosol quantification: a case study in fortaleza (ceará) - Brazil

Fortaleza is currently a large metropolis located in northeastern Brazil, the city goes through a constant demographic growth and significant increase of the local vehicular fleet. Currently, public policies for urban mobility in the city are being developed, such as encouraging the use of bicycles in cycle lanes, however these cycle-lanes are located in major high traffic routes in the city.

Fertility status of mulberry (morus alba l.) garden soils of bivoltine sericultural areas and their impact on cocoon production in Karnataka

It is a well-known fact that availability of organic manures are very much limited in the present day agriculture but demand for organic and inorganic nutrient supply to the soils ever growing due to intensive cropping systems. Therefore, the application of nutrients needs to be increased to keep the soil fertile and to make agriculture sustainable, but the cost of inorganic fertilizers escalating day by day making any farming is expensive.

Projection of ‘sin’ and ‘guilt’ as common human experiences in nathaniel hawthorne’s the scarlet letter: a brief analysis

This paper neatly analyses the artistic skill of Nathaniel Hawthorne in projecting ‘sin’ and ‘guilt’ as common human experiences in life and how it gets beautifully reflected in his novel The Scarlet Letter. It attempts to show how a sense of guilt is awakened either by the violation of a religious edict or some moral law and ‘sin’ is pictured as an offence against the will of God, an act which undermines the entire humanity at all levels possible, bringing home the point that the will of man is the cause of sin.

Implications of local production contexts on the institutionalization of coffees form Brazil brand

The purpose of this work was to understand what factors led to the development of the strategy for positioning the Cafés do Brazil brand in the market and to outline a profile of the difficulties to be faced for the institutionalization of the program. It relied on a documentary analysis and literature review to make the inferences. It was observed that the long period of regulation of the chain formed a productive culture focused on quantity forming a producer identity of a single type of coffee, “Cafés Tipo Santos”, demanding an effort to reposition the Brazilian image in the market.

A program for understanding mathematical probability concepts in secondary school Kenya

The pace of technological development in educational setting is on the increase in Kenya. The literature is replete with studies indicating that Computer Based Instructional programs enhance students learning outcomes. With the introduction of e-learning in Kenyan schools now at the pilot stage, there is need to develop computer-based programs in the area of mathematics where little or no studies have been done.
