Selection of a quantitative research design: a delicate task

On an exhilarating journey of a research study and with potential process to step in, one can be assured of a long ride through literature to pick up an appropriate research design. This can look like one of the delicate tasks one might have, even though generations have gone through the similar procedure. The accepted opinion is that the more choice, the better; and in the midst of very best kinds, the human ability to deal with, and the aspiration for selection is limitless. Having more choices is necessarily motivating than having fewer.

Study of anemia in rheumatoid arthritis

Introduction & Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory systemic disease of unknown etiology with a variety of extraarticular manifestations including fatigue, subcutaneous nodules, lung involvement, pericarditis, peripheral neuropathy, vasculitis, and hematologic abnormalities including anaemia. Anemia in rheumatoid arthritis is common and multifactorial. We studied the prevalence, type of anemia and its correlation with disease activity in Indian patients in a tertiary care hospital.

Depression, anxiety, and despair in health residents

This manuscript provides a review of the recent literature on anxiety and depressive disorders. In the last decades there has been an increase in the diagnoses of depression and anxiety, which are caused by the excellence of psychic suffering and responsible for incapacitating thousands of individuals to daily life. In ancient Greece, depression and its symptoms were known as melancholy. Anxiety has been termed anxiety neurosis and Angstneurosis. However, regardless of the name, the symptoms of both diseases are the same, of course, maintaining the proportion of each.

A case of extrapulmonary lymph nodes tuberculosis in a hemodialysis patient

There was described a case of extra pulmonary lymph nodes tuberculosis in a type 2 diabetes mellitus chronic hemodialysed (HD) patient, with hepatitis B virus. The association of these comorbiditieshasraised therapeutic controversy. The signs and symptoms and also, thebiopsy and imaging investigations were initially interpreted as sarcoidosis and treated accordingly. Unfavorable clinical evolution under corticosteroids decided reevaluating the histological sections, which were positive for the diagnosis of tuberculosis.

Evaluation of knowledge of nurses regarding complications related to mechanical ventilation

The aim of this study was to evaluate nurses' knowledge about complications related to mechanical ventilation. It is a descriptive, exploratory and quantitative approach, elaborated from the data collection structured by a questionnaire with nurses of a tertiary-level hospital in the city of Fortaleza / Ce, from February to July 2017. The results were submitted to simple regressive statistics using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 20.0.

Prinzmetal angina: case rare of double coronary spasm

Unlike typical angina, which is often triggered by exertion or emotional stress, Prinzmetal’s angina almost always occurs when a person is at rest, usually between midnight and early morning. These attacks can be very painful. Prinzmetal’s angina is rare, representing about two out of 100 cases of angina, and usually occurs in younger patients than those who have other kinds of angina. The coronary arteries can cause a spasm due to stress and smoking, as the case we will describe.

Physiochemical characterization of the raw milk marketed in the municipal district of Pombal, Paraíba, Brazil

He is considered that about 20 to 30% of the production of bovine milk in Brazil is marketed without sanitary inspection, or appropriate thermal treatment. Therefore, it is of great importance to evaluate the milk in these places, like this, the study had as objective analyzes the physiochemical characteristics in samples of raw milk marketed in the municipal district of Pombal, Paraíba, Brazil.

A new approach to solve the time-dependent three-dimensional advection-diffusion equation applied to model air pollution dispersion in the planetary boundary layer

In this work we present an analytical solution for the time-dependent three-dimensional advection-diffusion equation to simulate the pollutant dispersion in the Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL). In this new approach the advection-diffusion equation is solved using a combination of the separation of variables and GILTT methods. The great advantage is that, by this way, we avoid the numerical inversion done in the previous works in literature using the GILTT method. We also report numerical simulations and statistical comparison with experimental data available in the literature.

Effectiveness of cooperative learning learning model on shooting technique engineering school students mts n 6 model padang city

The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of learning cooperative learning model in improving soccer shooting technique skill. The problem with this research is the lack of student shooting skills in the game of football. The method of this research is experimental method using design pretest and posttest, and giving 16 treatments. The subjects of this study were all students of MTs N 6 Model of Padang City who took active soccer extracurricular, as many as 20 people. The extracurricular activities were conducted through SSB Putra Wijaya in the Yonif 133 Y / S field.
