Can megalith of wharton’s duct be treated in outpatient department? a rare case

Introduction: Sialolithiasis is a common salivary gland disease most commonly occurring in submandibular gland. Calculi more than15 mm in size are considered giant or megalith. This case report describes a megalith of Wharton’s duct in 70 years old male, its pathophysiology and subsequent patient management. To our knowledge there are very few cases of megalith of such size has been described and sialolith presented in our study is perhaps the largest ever reported to date so far in the literature.

Introduction: Depression is one of the five most common diseases in the world, with a high degree of mortality related to suicide risk and also accompanied by a high degree of disability, depression is the main cause of DALY. Its clinical presentation differs according to the culture. Our study aims to describe its clinical presentation in Madagascar. The model of attention to non-communicable chronic conditions and psychosocial attention

The present work aims to be a reflexive analysis on the chronic conditions (MACC) model of attention as the organizing axis of primary health care teams with transversality in psychosocial attention. This is a descriptive study with reflexive analysis. The results were discussed in three categories: MACC as the guiding principle; Psychosocial Attention Network and MACC; the relevance of MACC in the training of health professionals. As results, for primary care to work integrated psychosocial care is necessary a reorientation of the model adopted in the network points.

The partograph as a safety instrument in obstetric care

The objective of the study is to analyze partograph’s fulfillment as a safety instrument in obstetric care accomplished by healthcare professionals. Transversal, retrospective and documental study in a maternity school of Brazil. The sample was made of 263 partographs. The records were analyzed as complete, partial or with no record. The average age group was of 24.86 years old. At the identification, only the name was filled on all partographs. Only 25.9% had serology for HIV and syphilis noted. The variety of position was not registered on most of them.

Expectations for getting pregnant in HIV-positive women challenges / clashes

The present study aims to understand the expectation to get pregnant in HIV-positive women. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, conducted in 2017 in a Specialized Reference Unit on Infectious and Special Parasitic Diseases (URE-DIPE), in Belém do Pará. A semi - structured script was used for the interview, aiming to understand the expectations to get pregnant and later the content analysis was performed according to Bardin. Ten HIV-positive women were interviewed. The research results together with the discussion were based on Bardin, divided into four categories.

Possibility of congenital co-infection in tropical areas - report of the first case in Brazil of zika virus and toxoplasmosis in newborns albino

Congenital infections have a direct impact on the development of the fetus, and can cause several complications. Among them is toxoplasmosis, which has a high prevalence in Brazil’s northern region. It is noteworthy that, in 2015, the epidemic of Zika virus emerged in the country, causing several cases of microcephaly in newborns. Thus, both infections cause damage to fetus nervous system and sometimes there is a risk of occurring simultaneously.
