Use of learning games in university extension: teaching about zoonosis and pets care

The proximity between humans and pets favors the spread of zoonosis, especially when there is limited knowledge about disease prevention and about the transmission cycles of zoonosis, as well as the lack of importance of the necessary care for pets. In this sense, this study aimed to promote health education through reflection on zoonosis and the necessary care for pets, through the University Extension. The methodology was based on the use of learning games that were applied to students of municipal and state public basic education in the municipality of Senhor do Bonfim, Bahia, Brazil.

Evidence on clinical manifestations of gestation: a review study

Objective: to describe the current evidence on the clinical manifestations of gestation. Methods: it is an integrative review carried out between November and December 2015, in databases of the Virtual Health Library. Results: from the search in the databases were found 112 articles that addressed the proposed theme , In applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 100 studies were excluded because they did not address relevant concepts within the scope of the review, thus, 12 scientific articles were analyzed.

Life of cancer patients: difficulties faced in access and therapeutic itinerary to the oncological care network

Objetivo: identificar los estudios sobre las dificultades con respecto al itinerario terapéutico de los pacientes con cáncer a la red de atención oncológica. Método: revisión integradora, datos recopilados en bases de datos electrónicas Lilacs, Medline / Pubmed, Sciello, donde se identificaron 3.400 artículos, y de los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, quedaron 3 estudios. Las publicaciones analizadas datan de 2008 a 2018 y se llevan a cabo en países desarrollados y en desarrollo.

Metrics for analysis of technological maturity of academic spin-offs through technology readiness levels

This work aimed to develop a framework for assessing the technological maturity of companies that are born from research groups of educational institutions or research centers. These companies, commonly called academic spin-offs, usually start their activities after participating in incubation processes performed by academic incubators, where they learn to direct their efforts to business maturity, disregarding the technological maturity required for the development of their final product.

Profile of patients using hydroquinone in treatment of melasma

This article presents the interest in studying about the use of hydroquinone for the treatment of melasma by patients with hyperpigmentation as a cutaneous alteration, characterizing the profile of these patients, and to verify their knowledge about the risks caused by indiscriminate use. This drug also describes the main risks of using hydroquinone without medical and pharmaceutical guidance, pointing out the importance of the pharmaceutical professional during the dispensing of hydroquinone.

Os eventos adversos na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) são extremamente preocupantes, por conta do perfil de gravidade clínica de seus pacientes. Dentre os eventos mais comuns, os casos de Lesão por Pressão (LP) têm uma maior prevalência dentro desse ambiente. Normalmente, estas se encontram sobre proeminências ósseas, resultando da pressão ou de uma combinação entre pressão e forças de torção.

Entrepreneurship in the pharmaceutical sector: a study about the entrepreneur profile among university students in a private hei

This paper aims to characterize the entrepreneurial profile of students from the first to the tenth semester of the pharmacy course of a private HEI, in Vitória da Conquista. To this end, it sought to identify if the student has entrepreneurial behavioral characteristics (CCE's) that favor the entrepreneurial profile. The results show that students have the ten CCE's, and the opportunity-seeking feature obtained the highest score among students, but the other characteristics need to be improved during the pharmacy course.

The role of nursing in mental health in the primary care

Objective: To analyze scientific evidence found in literature about the role of nursing in Mental Health in the Primary Care. Methods: This article is an integrative literature review. To survey articles in the literature, the databases LILACS, SCIELO and BDENF were used. Were found 53 studies, of which 10 met the inclusion criteria. Results: From the analysis of scientific productions, it was possible to verify that most nurses feel unprepared to work in the area of mental health in primary care, or even those who said they feel prepared, few were able to detail this knowledge.

Challenges of the care network on reference and counter-reference: an integrative review

Objectives: To identify in scientific productions, which are the main challenges that network professionals face regarding the referral and counter-referral process. Methodology: This study is an integrative literature review, conducted in the first half of 2018, at the Virtual Health Library (VHL), based on the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature, Data Base on the Nursing (BDENF), and MEDLINE (Online Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System). After considering inclusion and exclusion, they were used and analyzed through a synoptic table.

Mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder show more demonstrative and directive and less imitative and playful behavior with their children

In this study, videotapes of play interactions were coded for the behaviors of 4- to 6-year-old nonverbal children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)(i.e., looking at the adult, initiating, imitating, and being playful) and their mothers’ and an imitative examiner’s behaviors (i.e. demonstrating, directing, imitating and being playful).ANOVAs revealed that the mothers spent more time demonstrating and directing versus the experimenter who spent more time being playful and imitating the child. The children spent more time looking at their mothers and more time imitating the experimenter.
