Background: Assessment of Pulmonary Function has been used as a clinical tool in diagnosis, management, and follow-up of different respiratory disorders. Ethnic-specific standard norms in the form of regression Equations are necessary for a good interpretation of these parameters. But equations for a tribal population mainly Sabar tribal population is not available till now. Method: 55 males and 48 females sabar tribal adults were taken randomly from Sabar villages of Jhargram District of West Bengal.

O objetivo deste artigo é descrever e analisar a percepção da equipe de enfermagem quanto ao uso do bundle de manutenção do cateter vesical de demora em uma UTI clinico oncologica. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, realizado na UTI do Hospital Ophir Loyolaem Belém-Pa. A coleta de dados foi através de entrevista semiestruturada com perguntas abertas envolvendo 19 profissionais de enfermagem, para análise utilizou-se a analise de conteudo de Bardin.

In the educational system, higher education occupies a special position as it is one of the most important apexes of the entire educational structure that influences all levels of education. In context to higher education, society’s expectations have not remained the same always as it may change with differing social concerns, economic situations and political conditions. As we know, education is a system of institutions organized by society to deliberately transmit its cultural heritage, its accumulated knowledge, values and skills from one generation to another.

Justification. Integrative and Complementary Practices (PICs) have the purpose of preventing and treating diseases through natural mechanisms that promote health through treatments based on traditional knowledge and effective technologies. Objective. Verify if the Integrative and Complementary Practices are tools of care in Primary Health Care. Methodology. Integrative review of national literature.

Objetivo: Este trabalho almeja discorrer sobre a abordagem diagnóstica e terapêutica da diabetes mellitus gestacional (DMG) durante o pré-natal. Fonte de dados: As informações foram coletadas a partir de artigos científicos publicados na última década, pesquisados nas bases de dados SciELO e Pubmed, além de diretrizes, documentos e livros atualizados. Síntese de dados: A diabetes mellitus gestacional está entre as complicações mais comuns da gestação e pode gerar consequências negativas tanto para a mãe quanto para o bebê.

Introdução: O câncer é um importante problema de saúde pública e uma das principais causas de morte no mundo. Trata-se de uma doença de caráter complexo e tratamento debilitante, a qual envolve alterações metabólicas e funcionais, inclusive transtornos gastrointestinais que afetam o estado nutricional e o processo de alimentação. Objetivo: Traçar o perfil nutricional e o consumo alimentar dos pacientes oncológicos atendidos em uma unidade especializada. Método: Estudo de corte transversal, com 97 indivíduos acometidos por câncer, utilizando-se questionários e consulta a prontuários.

Inga laurina (SW.) Willd. It is a species of woody habit, belonging to the Fabaceae family, whose seeds are polyembryonic therefore have the potential to regenerate new roots and even whole plants, even if part of its mass is removed. Thus the objective was to evaluate the effects of different forms of fractioning of I. laurina seeds and their influence on the germination process. The experiment was conducted at the Federal University of Paraíba, in a completely randomized experimental design.

Pigmentos bacterianos são bons substitutos de corantes sintéticos. Este trabalho produziu, extraiu e caracterizou piocianina de dois isolados selvagens de Pseudomonas aeruginosa cultivadas em King A suplementado com bagaço de malte de cevada 2% (m/v) e incubação sob agitação (29±1ºC – 72h). A extração com clorofórmio produziu cerca de 30 ml de solução de piocianina (585 µg/mL) com pureza alta. A concentração celular aumentou até 9,5 vezes e a máxima concentração de piocianina foi cerca de 1 µg/mL.h-1 (coeficiente de produção ≈240 µg/mL.UA-1).

The analysis of stomach contents is one of the few methods that provide information on food ecology and the trophic spectrum of fishes in their natural habitat. The aim of the present study was to investigate the food spectrum of Notarius grandicassis caught by the fishing fleet operating in estuaries in the state of Maranhão (Eastern Amazon). Biological material was obtained from artisanal fisheries in the study area. Sampling was conducted between April 2012 and August 2013 using driftnets with stretch mesh sizes from 40 to 120 mm.
