The Effects of Including Glutathione on the Characteristics of Post-Thawed Semen in Arabian Horse

This research aimed at investigating the effects of adding glutathione as an antioxidant to the Arabian horse semen extender on the sperm viability and integrity after cooling and freezing. Glutathione was tested at 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 mM/100 mL in the basic extender (HF-20). HF-20 extender was used as the basic control extender. Adding glutathione at a concentration of 2mM showed a high increase in the total motility sperm (61.25 ± 3.14%), progressive motility (28.13 ± 2.07 %),and VCL (90.03 ± 1.18μm/s)compared to other concentrations and to the control group.

Chest Pain and Anguish and its Importance to the Psychopathology

Recently, many patients with depression and anxiety disorders have reported experiencing chest tightness and anguish. This research aimed to investigate diferences between patients with and without anguish in terms of symptomatology and comorbidities and to find out whether patients with depression and with anxiety have more anguish than patients who do not have depression and anxiety. The sample included 100 patients, 69% being female and 29% being male.

Exploring Immunomodulation: Phytoconstituents and Medicinal Plants in Immune System Alteration

The alteration of the immune response, which can either increase or decrease the immune responsiveness, is known as immunomodulation. Since ancient times, nearly every culture has relied on medicinal plants as a source of medicine to alter the immune system. The immunomodulatory properties of several medicinal plants have been investigated, and it has been found that animals' immune systems are altered through a variety of mechanisms. The phytoconstituents and medicinal plants used as immunomodulators will be discussed in detail in this review.

Sonographic Assessment of the Uterine Parameters of Nulliparous Women of Igbo Extraction in Enugu Metropolis and it's Clinical Implications

Data on uterine dimensions in nulliparous women are vital for public health consideration as the presence of uterine pathology in nulliparous women effectively reflects the status of fertility and other gynecological conditions in the general population. This study aimed to assess the uterine parameter of the nulliparous women of Igbos in Enugu metropolis and its clinical implications. The height, and weight of 100 nulliparous women between the ages of 15 - 25 years were measured and their body mass index was determined.

No Brasil, o Instituto Nacional de Câncer (INCA) relata que o câncer se trata da causa de morte por doenças em pessoas com menos de 20 anos. O presente estudo tem como objetivo principal demonstrar os dados epidemiológicos acerca da ocorrência de óbitos por neoplasia maligna dos olhos e anexos no Brasil, com ênfase na região Norte do país. Além disso, tem como objetivo secundário analisar os dados de forma qualitativa sobre os fatores de riscos sobre o surgimento da enfermidade.

Robinow Syndrome: A Case Report

This paper proposes to describe the case of a 25-year-old female patient, affected by Robinow Syndrome type 2, who was treated at the Medical Specialties Center of the University Center of the State of Pará (CEMEC, CESUPA). A case report increases scientific knowledge about, in this case, a rare disease, which may present difficulties in the diagnostic and treatment for someone who has not been introduced to the subject, generating clinical error and ineffective treatment.

Flutuantes do rio Tarumã-Açu: O direito de Outorga do Espelho D’água e a Ofensa à Qualidade de Vida no Futuro

O trabalho em questão analisa o caso dos flutuantes do Rio Tarumã-Açu, na orla do Município de Manaus, que figuram como objeto de processo judicial a partir de Ação Civil Pública oriunda do Ministério Público do Amazonas que pugnou liminarmente pela remoção e desmonte daquelas estruturas flutuantes utilizadas no curso hídrico daquela região para fins comerciais e de moradia. Verifica-se ainda a necessidade, nesse contexto, do instituto jurídico do direito de outorga do espelho d’água e o risco de ofensa aos direitos das futuras gerações ante a inação do Poder Público.
