Trata-se de uma revisão de caráter descritivo sobre os efeitos da suplementação da L-Carnitina em pacientes em tratamento dialítico. O estudo foi realizado através de bibliografias das bases de dados SCIELO, MEDLINE e PUBMED. A insuficiência renal crônica em estágio avançado leva o paciente a diminuição de qualidade e expectativa de vida, o tratamento doloroso e demorado também implica em mudanças na vida pessoal, familiar e social do doente, assim como transformações físicas e emocionais, acarretando problemas psicológicos.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a multisystemic disease, mainly affecting the pulmonary system. In order to optimize respiratory work, postural changes and progressive physical exercise limitation may appear over time. Objective: To identify whether there is a relationship between pulmonary function and static posture, thoracic spine mobility and physical activity level in CF patients. Cross-sectional study with a consecutive sample of 44 children and adolescents.

Abstract: Large urban centers have been suffering over the years with flooding problems due to the rampant urbanization accompanied by inadequate infrastructure and consequent soil impermeability. Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the actions carried out in the city of São Bernardo do Campo to prevent the occurrence of floods.

The human parvovirus B19 (B19V) is an infectious viral agent associated with mild clinical conditions, such as the benign self-limiting exanthematous disease, but possibly fatal for fetuses. In this study, we observed positive cases of B19V in samples investigated due to suspicious dengue virus infection. The serum samples (n=17) were obtained in 2018 from patients attended by the public health system in Santarém municipality, located in the Amazon region of Brazil. Samples were submitted to ELISA (IgM) and also nested-PCR, presenting negative results to dengue virus in all tested samples.

In the history of German philosophy, so markedly systemic and rigorous, two thinkers form a true game changer. In this sense, this article aims to analyze the criticisms that these two philosophers, that is, Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, weaved against the decay and ruin of the educational system and german and European culture.

Identificar adequadamente o mecanismo fisiopatológico de lesão pulmonar do paciente com COVID-19 é fundamental no adequado manejo clínico.O presente estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a distribuição dos fenótipos da COVID-19 em idosos assistidos em unidade de terapia intensiva e sua associação com as variáveis sociodemográficas, condições clínicas, desfechos clínicos e a driving pressure. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, realizado no Hospital Esperança Olinda/Pernambuco.

It is of paramount importance that the psychology student has access practically to the universe of work organizations. The advent of COVID-19 was necessary to adapt remote teaching, including the challenge of practical and internship activities in Organizational and Work Psychology — POT in Brazilian universities. The objective here is to present the project model and strategies used by Estácio de Sá University (UNESA/RJ) and Catholic University of Petrópolis (UCP) to offer pot internships during the pandemic and to discuss the cases and results obtained.

Este artigo trata-se de estudo descritivo e qualitativo que visa refletir acerca dos impactos da pandemia da Covid-19, no âmbito da violência de gênero no Brasil. Para tanto, realizou-se pesquisa bibliográfica e aproximações da análise de conteúdo de dados secundários coletados pelo Fórum de Segurança Pública e Inteligência em Pesquisa e Consultoria. Com fito de analisar os dados, dialogou-se com os estudos de autoras e autores, tais como Joan Scott, Judith Butler, Rita Segato, Maria Lugones, Kimberlé Creenshaw, Aníbal Quijano, Nelson Maldonado Torres e Lélia Gonzalez.

Objetivo: descrever a implantação da teleconsulta nas Unidades Pernambucanas de Atenção Especializada (UPAEs), no contexto da pandemia do coronavírus, de maio/2020 a outubro/2021. Método:estudo de caso, com abordagens quantitativa e qualitativa. Para análise qualitativa, foram definidas categorias, a saber: aspectos históricos da telessaúde em Pernambuco; implantação da teleconsulta nas UPAE; fluxo do serviço; e principais resultados obtidos. A análise quantitativa foi realizada mediante um banco de dados construído no Excel. A coleta de dados ocorreu no período de maio a outubro de 2020.

In this context, the paper reflects on nature of India’s international disaster response and then captures India’s response to two most affected nations including Indonesia and Sri Lanka in the wake of tsunami 2004.
