The Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by differences in social communication, behavior, and sensory processing. It typically appears in early childhood and affects individuals in varying degrees, which is why it is described as a “spectrum.” People with autism may experience challenges in understanding social cues, forming relationships, and expressing emotions, along with patterns of restricted or repetitive behaviors, interests, or activities. Sensory sensitivities—such as heightened or reduced responses to sound, light, touch, or smell—are also common. The exact causes of autism are not fully understood, but research suggests a strong genetic component combined with environmental factors that influence brain development. Early identification and intervention play a crucial role in improving outcomes.
